Leave a bone for Hoku

Nicknames: H-dog

Quick Bio:
| -mutt | -pound dog | -dog rescue | |
Likes: Attention, going for walks, swimming.

Pet-Peeves: When mom goes to work and doesn't take the Hoku-dog. When people go on vacation without the Hoku-dog. When cats get more attention than the Hoku-dog.

Favorite Toy: Tennis balls (oh boy oh boy oh boy!). Also, the Munchie-cat

Favorite Food: Anything that people eat.

Favorite Walk: Around Mystic Lake (this also involves swimming).

Arrival Story: I found Hoku in the Ithaca pound at four months of age. He was a very pathetic looking puppy. The other dogs (mainly Shepherd crosses) were bouncing up and down barking. Hoku was small, in the back corner, and had peed on his tail. He came creeping towards me and then put his head on my leg and looked up at me. I had come to the pound for an older female, but wound up with him. His name was Shaquille, which obviously had to go. After some thought, I wound up calling him "Hoku". His full name means "star of gladness" in Hawaiian.

Bio: Hoku is very well-travelled. We have lived in New York, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. He was been cross-country twice, has been swimming in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and has been to most of the national monuments (Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Badlands, Crazy Horse Memorial, Sequoia National Forest, Big Sur).
Unfortunately, Hoku passed away on July 19th after being diagnosed with liver cancer. He had a very spoiled life, which is the only way to be a dog. He will always be missed, both by myself and by his kitty friends. He was the best.
