 Quick Bio:
Likes: Fetching/retrieving tennis balls at the dog park each morning at sunup. He loves car rides to ... anywhere! And he loves affection and attention. He's a dream! He loves to dive and swim indoors at Dunkin' Dawgs in Janesville, WI!!

Pet-Peeves: Being alone, even though he behaves. Bunnies on the other side of the fence!

Favorite Toy: Tennis balls and vegetables in flight, Booda bone, Nylabones, and Quacky Duck.

Favorite Food: Produce!

Favorite Walk: In the dog park, and around the neighborhood.

Best Tricks: On command, he delivers the mail and retreives tennis balls. He dresses himself!! At his whim, he rearranges things he finds on the floor. Missing a sock? Look in the kitchen! Troooo-PER! He also retrieved a live frog, which he soon released. Good boy!!

Arrival Story: Our beloved Brittany, Dickens (11) died in June '04, leaving Katie as our only dog (also a Brittany). On May 25 I went to a local no-kill shelter to drop off some supplies. As an afterthought, I asked to see the kennels. I first saw the cats. Ok. Then the dogs. Ok. No big deal. But then I saw Trooper (that's what we named him): calm in all the chaos, the only quiet one there, looking so wise. At first I thought he was a liver Brittany, but those ears gave him away: he's an ESS! I cried when I saw him, and immediately came home to tell my husband he had to see this dog (even though we weren't planning yet on getting another dog, not to mention a non-Brittany). He went with me right away, and fell in love with Trooper as I had. We are so, so happy with Trooper! He came to us well trained. He's amazing, and has brought a lot of humor back into our home. He LOVES competing in Dock Dog competitions!! He's an amazing jumper, and getting better. His record is 8'5". Go, Trooper!

Bio: We named him Trooper after our beloved Dickens. Dickie was undergoing chemo, and the whole time we kept saying "he's such a trouper." So we named Trooper in honor of Dickens.
On 9/13/06 Trooper scared a burglar out of our house! Trooper is trained not to bark, but when he heard a strange noise, he ran to investigate and barked as though he were going to kill the intruder--who got out of the house right away. Good boy, Trooper!
We think Trooper is the smartest dog on the planet!

Forums Motto: I'm the baby: gotta love me! Belly rub!
