 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: April 18th 2005
Likes: To sleep with Mommy on the nape of her neck, my "running" walks, running thru the house like a MANIAC with my butt low to the ground, chew toys, and chasing my 2 cat brothers!

Pet-Peeves: Not being able to eat the cat food! Waking up early in the morning, just like Mommy!

Favorite Toy: Curious George stuffed animal, bone, and stuffed froggy...i wish i could play with the kitties. Oh, and I like to chew on everything, mommy and daddy included!

Favorite Food: umm anything! I'm catching on to some baby carrotts and I also like me some cottage cheese and plain yogurt, gosh dat's delicious! and my Nutro Max puppy food isnt bad either.

Favorite Walk: anywhere! But I prefer to RUN instead of walk!

Best Tricks: None yet, i wish I could use wee wee pads correctly all the time, but I dont wanna yet!

Arrival Story: I had been looking for a pug for what seemed forever, then came across an ad posted by a guy who could no longer keep Charlie due to apartment regulations (this is NYC!); therefore I adopted him from his previous owner...Charlie originally came from a breeder who apparently allowed the puppies to contract ear mites and a parasite; YUCKY! He is fully healthy now though.

Bio: NOTE TO ALL ANIMAL LOVERS!!! Please do not feed your animals "greenies." They are very dangerous and many dogs have had to have surgery to remove them from their stomach; unfortunately some dogs have died. Please check out (if you cut and paste there might be a space in between the letters and the page will not come up, just type the address!):

I pugsat for a fellow Pug Meetup member for her 1 year old puggy girl named Lola. She was such a delight, and hyper just like Charlie! They had so much fun together...I am really contemplating getting Charlie another puggy friend. He is home alone with the kitties a good part of the day and I'm sure he gets lonely, especially after having Lola with him constantly for a whole week. They just had so much fun together! When Lola left, Charlie was very depressed and he waited by the door for her to come back. =( At least this Sunday he can mingle with other pugs at the Pug Meetup's Halloween Bash, Charlie will be a cowboy this year!

Last week (August 6th, 2005) Charlie and I traveled to Dallas, TX to visit my family. This was the first time I ever took a dog on a plane and the first time Charlie had been on a plane so it was a little nerve racking at first. My vet suggested I give Charlie 25mg of Benadryl if he seemed anxious, which I knew he would, so I did. On the way to Dallas he slept the whole time. Right when we landed he woke up though, and boy was he ready to go potty! I took him to the bathroom and laid out a wee-wee pad that he used just fine. My family ended up loving him! And I know he loved them and Dallas too; he was able to actually run around in grass and just be a lovely little puppy (in NYC we live in an apartment building). My grandmother had no idea I now had a puppy, but she knew I always wanted a pug. She was delighted to my surprise to see Charlie! Although Charlie has done quite well at home with wee wee pads, he did not do well at all at my Mom's house. She has carpet and he definitely marked his territory in every room of her house! I never seen a dog poop sooooo much! The trip went by rather quickly and it was time to return home to NYC; I gave Charlie another Benadryl that didnt really kick in until the plane took off, this time I let him sleep in my lap (without the airline attendants see'n) since I had great dog lovers sitting next to me. It was a wonderful trip and I know Charlie is going to miss running outside and playing in grass!

Last night was our last puppy class at Empire of the Dog in Brooklyn. He did extremely well as did all of the other pups and his favorite part was "play time." I am going to start taking him to pug meetup's which happen every month...he'll be old enough at the end of this month and will have had all of his shots...Neither him or I can wait!
Last night he got his diploma and danced to the graduation song with his buddies Cooper (Boston Terrier), Horace (toy poodle), and Basil (standard poodle)...yeah it was a small class and I believe better since we all got individual attention! Stupid ol' me, I forgot to bring my camera but we will be taking some at home with his nifty diploma. Many of the things we learned in class could have easily been learned at home if I would have just read up on it, but it was a worthwhile experience because Charlie met other dogs and was introduced to children which is always a plus.
