Tico is now about half way thru his first training class! So far we have covered the following topics: sit, down, stay, settle, walk (loose leash), come, give & where the cleanup supplies are!
His classmates are two other puppies the same age as him and one a couple months older. There is a golden lab named Sport, a golden labadoodle named Morrison and the older puppy is a collie mix named Pino. One of the photos I've added is at class and shows him playing with Pino.
Since the others are all quite a bit larger than Tico, when they have play time, the trainer brings out a fence for Tico to stay behind. The other dogs will come and poke their noses thru to say "Hi" and Tico acts like he'd pounce if the fence wasn't there. Then when everyone is back on their leashes, and the fence is taken down, he's a little more bashful.
He's now an expert at Sit, Down, Come & Give (give only when it comes with a really good treat) and getting used to the other commands.

Tico has been with me for almost a week now and has totally made himself at home! It took him a couple days of being unsure to start to explore on his own, but now he's poking into every little corner and challenging everything - including the old cat.
One of his favorite activites is sprinting around the couch until he just looks like a little white blur!
His loves playing with is new toys - expecially the rope kitty and puppy and fabric ring toy. But isn't sure of the cat's toy balls with spinning insides!

Tico came home with me the morning of July 1, 2005 after meeting me the week prior.
The drive home from his breeder (thank you Jennifer!) was about 1 hour 15 minutes and he barked himself silly as soon as he was put in the crate and for the first 30 minutes. The next 20-30 minutes he calmed down and just cried a bit. Then fell asleep for the rest of the ride.
when we got home, he met Babe the cat (Babe wasn't sure what to think of him, so spend the rest of the day on the kitchen window sill). After getting aquanted with his new home, he napped for a bit. After his nap, we tried on his new harness and he did great with it!
Later in the afternoon, we had an appointment to meet the vet and stopped by Grandma & Grandpa's to say hi. He wasn't sure about Grandpa - thought he was kinda scary, but sat with Grandma for a while. At the vet, all the nurses couldn't get enough of Tico. They all agreed he was the cutest thing! He did great thru the entire visit (especially when he got a doggie biscuit!). The Dr. said he is in great shape and didn't find any signs of worms and only a very slight case of another digestive bug that he got butterscotch flavored medicine for that he thought was pretty tasty, and de-wormer - just to be on the safe side - that was banana flavored he didn't care for as much.
When we were done with the vet. visit, we went thru PetSmart and picked up a bag of the puppy biscuits the Dr. suggested and a bag of puppy food.
On the drive home, he slept the entire time.
When it was time for bed, Tico went right into his new crate and went right to sleep and didn't make a peep until the cat woke him up at 7am.
