Arrival Story:
I lost all my previous dogs-Jakey to congestive heart failure in Aug, 2002; Harley to lymphoma in Nov. 04; Bohdi to kidney failure in March 05. I didn't have a dog for a month-I've never not had a dog in my life! I was so crushed about my recent losses, devastated, and was either going wait a long time before getting a dog, or get one quickly. Well, I went to this PAWS (progressive animal welfare society) event, on April fools day. They brought adoptable dogs to Kitty City for a joke, and took the kitties to the main facility. I went to go "look"..."just for fun". They were bringing in the older dogs first. I wanted a younger dog. But I stayed and filled out an application so they could keep it on file. They brought in two huge black dogs. Then in walked "Ralphie". He was so cute, a perfect DOG in looks, and so friendly. I went into the playroom with him. They said he was shy. Well he licked me and played with me and let me pet his tummy. A lot of other people were looking at him especially, but I didn't give them a chance. I said I'll take him right then. When walking him to my car, I unclipped the leash for like one second, and he took the opportunity to run into traffic. He almost got killed. But I got him thanks to a passerby and we went home. He immediately began playing with toys.He was really skinny, had flakey skin and hair loss..had been abandoned apparently in a garage for months, when his people moved. Well, he got used to my house really quick, and now he's gained weight and his skin/coat are perfect, thanks to raw food and salmon oil, and brushing daily. He still has separation anxiety, understandably. He doesn't destroy anything, but howls. We are working with a behaviourist.

Bio:
He has a big wet black nose, huge brown eyes with blonde eyelashes, and is the cutest dog ever.
