Gone to the Bridge

Treat hasn't updated her diary in some time, and I'm awfully, awfully sorry about that. Today she made her journey to the Bridge after a brief battle with what we believe was a tumor on her spinal chord or on the base of her brain. We won't ever really know for sure. She fought the battle with all she had, but today she looked at me with the gaze that said she was ready to go. After all the fun we've shared, and all the times she's comforted me, I had to honor this one last request from her. I had no idea that I could cry as many tears as I have. Heartbroken is such a small word for how devastated I feel with her loss. She will always be my heart dog. She was a wonderful ambassodor for greyhounds everywhere and many found homes because of her winning personality. She brought joy to many people in her role as a certified therapy dog. Treat was also proud to be a READ dog. There was never anywhere that I was going that she didn't want to be as well. When I was sick, she was there with me. I've met so many wonderful people as a result of having Treat in my life that I couldn't possibly be able to name them all. I have been truly blessed to have had her in my life and I will always be grateful to my little brindle dog for helping to heal my heart. Godspeed, Princesse, I will miss you so!

Dog Days of Summer

Wow! It's been a while since I've written anything. I've just been busy livin' life, I guess! Anyroo, it has been hot here. Really hot! I gave Dad the doe eyes, an' he got my pool out for me, so I've been able to play in the pool, much to the dismay of the other hounds here. At least they like eatin' Frosty Paws with me! I hope it cools off soon so that we can head back to the dog park!

3. I know that if I sneak to the back door when Mom is goin' to run errands that she'll break down and take me along.
4. I get to go to the school where Mom works on Thursdays so that kids can read to me. I love it! I'm always learnin' somethin' new!

Snow, snow, snow!

Roo Hoo! On Friday, we got A LOT of snow here. About a foot of snow, to be exact. Mom was happy, because she got a snow day, an' I was happy because after Dad got up an' let me outside to take care of, ahem, personal business, I got to come back in an' snuggle in bed with Mom in our jammies. Dad left for work, but he came back because the snow had blown over the road an' he couldn't get out of town! So we mostly stayed inside with our jammies on all weekend. Then, last night Mom got a phone call, an' then ran to look at the TV. She started yellin' "snow day" an' got very excited. So, she's home with me again today. I am a happy, happy girl! Plus, it's just a few weeks until Mom's off for Christmas break! Roo Hoo!

Bark in the Park

Well, I've been feelin' a little bad, since we didn't get to go on vacation this year to Dewey Beach to see all my greyhound friends this year. Dad's sister is gettin' married soon, so Mom an' Dad didn't go this year. Anyroo, to make up for it a little, Mom took me to Bark in the Park this weekend, by the riverfront. It was greyt! I had a lot of fun, meetin' other hounds, goin' on the walk, gettin' my picture taken, shoppin', an' playin' in the fountain! It was perfect weather, it was a beautiful fall day, an' there were lots an' lots of dogs of all kinds. I had so much fun that I need to go an' take a nap now!

This is hard work!

Wow! I'm still busy takin' care of Mom an' her hurt dewpaw. It's wearin' me out. Mom says she gets to take the splint off next Tuesday. She can't wait! I've kind of gotten used to usin' it for a pillow.

Takin' Care of Mom

Welp, Mom had surgery on her dewpaw (or thumb, as humans call then) on Monday, an' I have been workin' hard at takin' care of her. Today she had to go to town to get a few things (dog food was the most important thing I saw on the list), so she took me with her. I was really happy, since it's been gettin' a bit warm, an' ridin' in the car means air conditionin'! So, we went to Petsmart an' got the dog food an' some Milkbones. Then, we stopped so that she could get some flowers for the yard. After that, she took me to the dog barkery since I have been so helpful lately. The lady ther fussed over me a lot, an' let me taste a lot of the treats. Mom got us some treats, plus a new pink portable water bowl and a bottle of passionfruit flavored vitamin water. That is good stuff! I truly feel like a pampered pup today!

Livin' the Life (of a Princesse that is!)

I just got the most fabroolous present, a new coat from Posh Pawz! It was specially made, just for me, an' I must bark that I feel like a true princesse in it! It even has a sparkly buckle on the belt. All the hounds will be droolin' over it, I'm sure.

Sparklin' Clean Teeth!

Yesterday I had the not~so~fun experience of havin' my teeth cleaned at the vet's office! All I have to bark is that there really is no place like home, an' that I am now resolved to brushin' my teeth a lot more often! The good news is that my teeth are now sparklin' white again, an' my breath is all fresh for when I go out to meet my adorin' public! Plus, I'm all ready for my birthday party tomorrow now!
