Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:
-mutt-dog rescue

Likes:
He loves to escape and run loose while chasing the local wild life.

Pet-Peeves:
He is Very anxious around small children and is better suited for a family with older children. He is very loving and can be quite affectionate with the right family.

Favorite Toy:
He has this obsession with sticks/branches, his rubber chew ring, tennis balls and his bones.

Favorite Food:
He loves it all, especially table scrap, what dog wouldn't?

Favorite Walk:
Walk?? He would rather be free as the wind.

Best Tricks:
I swear he is half kangaroo. When he is connected to his trolley and we bring him in, he starts to jump like 4 feet into the air, just like a kangaroo.

Arrival Story:
I found him through Pet Finders and fell in love with his pic and story.

Bio:
Clapper was abandoned in the Bronx and left for dead. We adopted him when he was about 11 months old and he weighed only 18lbs. He was still in pretty bad shape and he wouldn't let my daughter (she was 7 at the time) go near him for 2-3 months. With lots of TLC he is now more comfortable in his own skin but still very edgy. He was named Clapper by the lady that rescued him. According to her, he would only acknowledge her when she clapped her hand. When we adopted him, we were so use to calling him by that name, it just stuck.

The Groups I'm In:
German shepard/beagle mix!, PA Dog Lovers, Pennsylvania Dogs

Family Wanted:
Clapper needs a family with understandings of a previously abused animal. He needs patience and lots of love and this is what he has been living with and deserves unconditionally. He is very attached to my 11 year old daughter and can be taught to cohabitate with children of that age or older. He is house broken and crate trained and knows all his basic commands. He loves to chase deer, chew on raw hides, bones and enjoys his daily milk bone. We are relocating and selling our home.
