Long walks, treats, playing with her friends, treats, ice cubes on a hot day, treats, cuddling, treats, playing in snow - and did I mention treats?
Being home alone, barking dogs, rain, quick movements, kids that come running at me and sometimes my brother, Walter.
My brother, Walter-Melon. :)
Anything my mom is eating (not that I get any.... usually!).
Grandma's house especially to look for her cats, Prospect Park or anywhere that I get to see my friends!
Sitting, speaking, giving my paw, giving a "high-five", coming when Mommy makes kissy-sounds, walking upstairs to our apartment on command, walking around a tree or pole on command (so my leash doesn't get tangled) and making my Mommy and Daddy laugh.
My mommy and daddy adopted me from the Animal Haven Shelter mobile adoption van. As soon as I saw my daddy, I went right up to him and started licking his hand and face. My mommy was so happy that I bonded with him, she went to fill out the adoption application right away after playing with me, of course.
I was eight months old when I was adopted. My new family doesn't know anything about my history because I was abandoned and tied to a pole outside the Animal Haven Shelter in Queens. My parents think I was abused by my previous owners since I'm very cautious. I was at Animal Haven for about a week before I was adopted. Animal Haven took pretty good care of me while I was there but I love having a home of my own now. I live across the street from a small park, which I sometimes play in with some friends. I like to watch dogs, squirrels, birds and cats from my window. When I see someone outside I know, I start to dance back and forth while at the window. I also like to watch Mommy (from the window) when she leaves our home to go out, and she always looks back at me at least twice to smile at me goodbye.
My parents soon discovered I am psychic... even without Mommy saying a word or doing anything out of the ordinary, I know when she wants to give me a bath, and I hide. She has to find me and then carry me into the bathtub and close the door quickly so I don't escape. I can also tell time because I know when it's time to eat breakfast and dinner. I gently lick my Mom's hand, foot, face - whatever is not covered with a blanket - until she gets up to feed me in the morning. I'm very patient with her, and wait outside the kitchen (where my food dish is located) until she is done preparing my food. I love when Grandma comes to visit - she has the best treats! And she lets me jump all over her ... I used to play with her long hair, which was in a braid (just like it's one of my rope toys), but she cut it real short. She's still fun, though. I also love to visit Grandma at her home because she has two cats - Hercules and Aphrodite. I like to look for them even though they never come out to say hi. It's still fun to try to find them. =)
I am the Chief Executive Dog of a dog walking and pet sitting business WWW.AWALKAROUNDTHECORNER.COM ... it's not bad running a business. ;-)
