Arrival Story:
I've been looking into getting a doberman for awhile. I was approved to adopt from Prayers 'n Paws Doberman Rescue in Roxboro, NC. Taye, lady in charge, heard of a dobe in SC in need of help. She found someone to pull her from the high kill shelter there. Since I was heading her way and SC isn't far from me I agreed to transport the dobergirl to her. The SC dobe, Zee at the time, was dropped off to me for transport. I fell in love with her at first sight but I debated on whether or not to continue the transport. Before I decided to keep her I needed to make sure she got along with the family. First was the foster puppy, Raven, no problem there even with Raven jumping on her to play. Next was the cats, all 5 of them, no problem here. The cats weren't too happy but she showed no interest in them. The Final Test, Max, he wasn't too sure at first. A few words between them and they walked happily side by side. All was a GO, so I emailed Taye and told her what I thought. She said that was the fastest adoption ever. The dog I was originally going to adopt, Raven, had a second home waiting in case I decided she wasn't right for us. Good thing because I don't know if I could've said no to this gal.
Bio:
Zera had puppies recently, don't know how long ago or what happened to them. Suspect the shelter put them down, like they were going to do with her. The shelter tested her for HW and said she was +. They were ready to put her down right then and there. Thank God we got her. She has so much love to give. This is all I know about her past, I don't know how her life was before the shelter. I do know how her life will be after, WITH ME. UPDATE: Zera is cured, no more HW!!! I am so excited now she can be a dog.

UPDATE::
Zera went with Lady to a doberman rescue in PA. I've decided that this is what was best for her and me. She needed more love and attention than I could provide especially when I due to have our first baby in Dec. I LOVE HER TO DEATH AND KNOW THIS IS BEST FOR HER.

Guess What? I've been with my Furever Home for one year. Wow, they have been a terrific family. They made sure I got better from my HW and took care of me when I had my tumor. Thanks Mom & Dad couldn't have done it without you. Thanks Max & Raven for adopting me as your sister.

Hey, it's me, Zera. I haven't been on here lately. I'll update everyone on what's happened since my last diary entry. Dr. Sprinkles, my vet, told me and my mom that the tumor wasn't cancerous but that the margins between the tumor and the healthy tissue was very very thin. Meaning that we caught it just in time before it became cancer. I've done great since then too. I had a check up about a month agao when me and Raven got into a scuffle and I had to go see the vet. I bit right through my lip and daddy had to take my tooth out of it for me... ouch. Anyway we saw a different vet and he was nice but Dr. Sprinkles is my fav. Nothing new to report.

My Mommy took me to the vet again today and left me. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I know she told me that after today I wouldn't have that lump anymore. She was right. They took me to the back and gave me something to sleep. When I woke up I was sore and felt like crap, and still do. The vet told Mommy I was a real trooper and did great. He also said he would send the lump off to a lab and have it anaylized to see what it really was. Mommy says she hopes the cures me for a few more years. She said she had me microchipped, whatever that is. She said if something ever happened and we got separated they would be able to find us and bring us back together. I'm going to sleep now, I don't feel good.
