Your expressive ears that would curl into an "L" shape when you were feeling affectionate; these were naturally called your love ears.
The happy frenzy you went into whenever I put my sneakers on.
The way you would shake your toys for dear life.
The way you eagerly jumped into your harness at the door whenever there was a promise of going for a spin in the car.
The way you would greet us when we came home- by turboing around- jumping from the couch, running into the bedroom, leaping on the bed and on your back for a belly rub!
Your crazy antics when you saw a frog on the other side of the window- you would try to bite the glass to get to it.
How you always seemed to know what I was going to do even before I did- I swear you were a mind reader.
How you loved us unconditionally and were such a comfort and joy to have around.
You added so much to my life and things are just not going to be the same without you....
I loved you with my whole heart.

Today I am 5 years old and it's a beautiful day to be alive!
I haven't written in a long while and much has happened to me lately.
A few months back, me and my family found out that I'm a very sick girl. I've been diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of cancer. Because I'm so young and I'm otherwise healthy, my parents decided to have me treated with chemotherapy. I've had several treatments so far and there's no sign of cancer at this time. We are all very happy about that.
The treatments are a little hard on me but it's not as hard as it is on people. I won't lose my hair or feel sick for days on end. I do feel quite tired after my treatments; I think mostly because I'm stressed out about being at the vet's office all day long. That sucks. I'm ever so happy when my family comes to get me and take me home.
I have many treatments still in front of me and I don't look forward to them but I do look forward to many birthdays to come! I plan to live a long time and beat the odds.
To all the pups and peeps out there who are experiencing anything similar with their furry friends, cancer does not have to be a death sentence. They have some remarkable treatment options available, whether they be traditional or holistic; your pet can still have a good life.
I'm having a wonderful time today flinging my new croaking frog around and feasting on the "mutt meatballs" that Granny made for me.
I am a happy girl today and everyday. That's the beauty of being a dog. :))
Love,
Ceilidh

I really scored in the Christmas loot department this year (as in previous years)- but this year was especially fun and exciting! I opened all my presents myself- with maybe a tiny bit of help from Mom; I let her help just so she wouldn't feel left out.
I look stunning in the new Coach collar that Aunt Sandra gave me, if I do admit this myself; and I really have enjoyed the homemade biscuits that Granny made for me! I also got tons of toys- from a squeaky Santa to a crazy, shrieking monkey. I've been having a blast shaking, tossing and shreading these stuffed toys to bits. They're no match for me!
Hope all the pups and peeps out there had a great holiday! Happy New Year everyone!!
Love, Ceilidh.

I simply can not resist frogs. And squirrels. Or critters of any kind really....
But back to frogs; they are in great abundance at my house. The fat, speckled toads hang out all over our walkways and burrow in the mulch around the shrubs. The cute little tree frogs, with the suction cup feet, like to cling to our porch windows and doors.
Did I mention they are delicious?
Mom gets mad at me for chasing them and even madder when I gobble them up and then froth at the mouth. But what 's the problem, really? What's the big deal? Frogs are yummy.
Now if I can only catch one of those speedy squirrels!
