 Quick Bio:
Likes: Swimming and freestyle rock and dock diving, running in the woods, chasing chipmunks, napping, sniffing, road trips, leaning on people (especially when wet) riding in the car...the longer the trip, the better.

Pet-Peeves: When people sneeze, not being able to CATCH any chipmunks, having his paws touched, Poncho the cat, the vet, a day without a walk and/or swim.

Favorite Toy: His floppy frisbee or any floating, fetchable toy. It used to be a Teva sole until an unfortunate house-cleaning incident made it disappear.

Favorite Food: An over-easy egg fried in olive oil... a Sunday delicacy. Pig ears and fruit. He actually stared at a pint of strawberries and started drooling while a plate of chicken went unchecked nearby.

Favorite Walk: At the Fellsway in Winchester. It's an off-leash buffet of mud, smells and small woodland creatures...oh yeah, and other dogs.

Best Tricks: Shaking...which he does grudgingly.

Arrival Story: When I lived in Atlanta, my roommate at the time told me that her coworker found a stray wandering her neighborhood and was looking for a home for him. She already had two dogs and couldn't keep him. I have always loved dogs, but was between jobs and wasn't thinking about taking on the expense of a pet. Until...I was suckered in with the ol' "Well, let's go see him and maybe you'll think of someone who will want him." The fix was in. As we got out of the car, there he was...just sitting there in the yard and it took all of four nanoseconds of playing with him until I realized I had been had, and I loved it. He came home with us about an hour later and he's been my best friend ever since.

Bio: I don't know much about Jackson's humble beginnings other than it was less than kind. He had obviously been kicked and beaten and the woman who found him said that he was loping along dragging about eight feet of chain. For the first few weeks, he wouldn't come near people and I knew that wouldn't stand; his utter distrust of people. I started taking him to a local dog park in the neighborhood, as well as to a bar with a dog-friendly patio, where he quickly honed his salesmanship conning french fries out of unsuspecting and vulnerable patrons.
Jackson passed away on November 14, 2009. He will be dearly missed.

Forums Motto: Have a good time all the time.
