Favorite Walk: Dog park and beach Arrival Story: Jacob sat in a San Diego shelter for 3-months. No one would adopt him because he sat in the back of his kennel shaking. He was skinny, had worms, and had most likely been mistreated. A fellow rescue colleague of mine pulled Jacob while I was out of town. When I returned, I agreed to foster him. Barkley fell in love with him and so did I. He was originally available for adoption but each person I spoke to about him said "I think you want to keep him". And I did!
Jacob left us on Sunday November 4, 2007 for greener fields and freedom from pain. He was an amazing animal who taught me so much about life. A good friend shared these words with me: "We must accept our pain from their deaths to spare them their pain from their lives".
