Arrival Story:
Fuzzi was given to the Toronto Humane by her owners as she had tumours on her mammary glands. Humane operated on her and found them to be cancerous and therefore couldn't put her up for adoption...she was listed on the "palliative" list. A friend saw her there and told me about her - something kept niggling as me to go get her...so I did! I had just adopted out a wondeful little dog I had been fostering for 8 months to his forever home [he's happy but I miss him] so I needed another little set of paws running around. Fuzzi has been with me for 3 weeks now and so far no sign of sickness. Every day is a bonus for her and we're trying to keep her happy for how much longer she has left - and we hope that's going to be a looooong time! **UPDATE** It's 8 months now and Fuzzi is still going strong against all diagnosis. She is possibly in remission and not showing any signs of the cancer returning. She is still a wonderful happy dog that brings joy to anyone that is lucky enough to cross her path

Bio:
Fuzzi is the most laid back, sweetest, calmest dog I've ever seen. She just likes to be cuddled and beside me all the time. If I'm out gardening, she sits in the dirt and watches...if I cut the lawn, she follows me up and down each swipe of the mower. She's a perfect little dog. All my neighbours love her already and she even spent an afternoon next door being spoiled while mommy was at work!

Forums Motto:
I laugh at baby gates!

I'm Ready For My Closeup Mr. Demille

In July, I made my debut on television. I was on CityTV show "Animal House Calls" with Ann Rohmer. Mommy and Auntie Carol were asked to go on the show so they could talk about Happy Tails Rescue and of course I had to go on too as the mascot.
A couple of days before the show, I went home to Mommy's house and went to my groomer. Mommy told them I was going to be on TV and to make me look even more beautiful. Again I was being pampered and primped like I love. It was nice being at mommy's and seeing all the neighbours...everyone spoiled me. I even got to go swimming again and I did good - all the walks with daddy paid off!
We got to Toronto a bit early so we went and sat on the outside patio at Starbucks and had some treats and water...very big city we were. I felt so special all prettied up and walking into CityTV like a star. ...Fuzzi has arrived, no autographs please!
Auntie Carol did the interview with Ann Rohmer and mommy stayed off camera but she made sure I was getting the close-ups. Ann asked about me of course and Auntie Carol told her my story and about how special I am. Auntie Carol and I did so good on the show like we'd done it millions of times. I was exhausted at the end of the day tho - but I got to go to my other home and see my Daddy again and snuggle.....I'm a happy special dog!
Oh yeah....a foster Bichon, DJ, was also on the show and he got a home because of it. Check our website www.happytailsrescue.ca !

Woofstock - day 2

After a bubble bath, massage, and a good nights beauty sleep, I was ready for my next trip down the runway. So off we went to Woofstock again.
We got there early so were able to do some more shopping and try out all kinds of doggy treats. Then it was time to go to the models' tent to get ready with the other models. Of course I did incredible again and heard the oooos and awwwws from the audience - they loved me! Oh yeah - Dylan did ok again too.
After the show, I went and worked with 2 nice human girls at the Princess Margaret Hospital breast cancer awareness booth. I had on my pink t-shirt and special pink ribbon leash and collar that shows that I am fighting breast cancer too. I helped the nice girls get lots of donations for our cancer fight. I was very proud to be helping them. Lots more people took our picture [you can see me there too on www.poshtogs4dogs.com website!
After a busy busy busy day, mommy and Aunt Carol came back to the booth to pick me up. I tried to walk on my leash but my fans kept stopping me to take more pictures or pet me. Mommy had bought a dog stroller that day so she put me in it and took my outfit off. I was so happy to be naked again and off my paws that I got all comfy in the buggy and fell asleep.
It was a very awesome weekend as a model and star. I was born for this and had blast!

A STAR IS BORN

In June, I was asked to be a model at Woofstock in Toronto for a dog clothing designer. Woofstock is a huuuuuuge festival just for dogs and there is tons of stuff to buy. The designer, Lorraine who is my friend, made a special outfit for me out of pink sparkly material to wear on the runway. Aunt Carol took me to the beauty parlour and had my hair done special and pouffy...she took me shopping and we bought flowers for my hair and a pair of doggy sunglasses - pink of course. I loved the primping.
My mommy came to Toronto to go too cuz one of waif foster dogs {Dylan - cute but stupid] was also in the show. ShelbyAnne came too but no one wanted her on stage. I looked so special in all my costume that Shelby didn't even recognize me until I called her a nasty name...dumb Yorkie.
I loved being in the fashion show and all the special treatment. A nice young lady human model took me on stage to strut my stuff. I could hear the audience gasping at my beauty and I knew they wanted to see more of me. The model took me off the stage and I tried my best to give my public what they wanted by Aunt Carol grabbed me and my part inthe show was over. Mommy was in the audience and got lots of pictures of me. Mommy and Aunt Carol were really proud to have me as their dog and show me off! oh yeah, Dylan did ok too.
After my debut, the public just wouldn't leave me alone and everyone wanted to take my picture....oh the paparazzi! I stayed with Lorraine the designer for part of the afternoon so people could see me and admire me...such is the life of a model - sigh.
Then it was home for beauty sleep for the next day on stage
