As it turns out, neither DexCorp nor the Frisbetarian Mother Church of Greater Metropolitan Spreckels sets great store in democracy, organic or imposed. So, this year, I have been allowed to make my own “Best of” selections, without reference to the opinions of my faithful readers, whom I value greatly, but whom I am too lazy to consult.
This year, I have felt obliged to divide my choices into four distinct, albeit overlapping, categories:
Funny (Always lead with your strength, I say.)
Episodic (I like to think these are also funny, but they need to be read consecutively to make any sense, if you can call it sense.)
Poignant (This category is a bit self-indulgent on my part, buy hey… it’s my diary, isn’t it?)
Forensic (And by forensic, I really mean argumentative.)
