Quick Bio:
-purebred
Birthday: July 4th 2004 Likes: Cookies! He also likes chewing on stuffed bones, playing with his sister, destroying tennis balls. Water - he loves the kiddie pool at the dog park. Sitting in the front of the SUV (not allowed). Pet-Peeves: Being scolded for "shopping" and taking things off the desks/counters he shouldn't have. Getting to the bottom of his food bowl. The remote control citronella collar Mommy got for him. Favorite Toy: Biscuit. Also likes balls, tug ropes, bones, cordless phones, remote controls, cordless mouse, Daddy's wallet. Favorite Food: He's a lab - you name it, he eats it. Oddly enough, he dislikes tortilla chips. Loves McDonald's hamburgers, chicken balls, sausage, egg Mcmuffins, Milk Bone gravy-basted cookies, cat food. He also LOVES Timbits & wants to be the Tim Horton's mascot. Favorite Walk: Main Street in Milton. The off-leash park in Milton. Best Tricks: Shake a paw, high 5, give me 10, "touch". Is also able to spit out credit cards while chewing on Daddy's wallet. Arrival Story: We adopted Dylan from a breeder in Waterdown who had just had her first litter. There were 5 pups in all - 2 females and three black males. My husband chose Dylan because he was the biggest trouble maker and because he has such a beautiful face. Daddy had said that we weren't ready for another dog and that our house wouldn't be big enough for a lab. Mommy convinced Daddy to see the lab puppies "just for a look." Needless to say, Daddy melted at the site of all those cute squirmy puppies and Dylan got to go to his new home. Bio: Dylan was born on the fourth of July and was adopted by us at 8 weeks old. He sees his biological brother Harley Davidson (adopted by husband's brother) and cousin Bailey frequently. He loves to play with other dogs at the off-leash park and is very easy-going. Despite his size (he's 85 lbs), he is very submissive. Dylan doesn't read other dogs body language very well and is always getting into trouble at the dog park. Whenever another dog is barking or growling at him, Dylan thinks it wants to play so he repeatedly tries to kiss the other dog. Dylan is the most happy-go-lucky dog ever and prefers to let his older sister, Biscuit, do all the thinking. Dylan's girlfriend is a blond lab named Natcho. They have an "on/off again relationship." Tonight Biscuit and I went for a walk with Mommy and Daddy and went to the fair grounds. Usually there's no one there, but tonight there were tons of people! And lots of little kids. It was beautiful out - not too hot and the smell of ribs and hot dogs wafted on the breeze.
Then Mommy sat on the grass and Daddy stood with Biscuit and we waited a while. People were sitting all around us. Then suddenly there were all these bangs and popping noises! It scared me and I hid behind Mommy, but when I peeked over her shoulder, there were so many pretty lights in the air! Mommy put her arm around me and told me it was okay and gave me cookies. Daddy didn't look scared either, so we just sat and watched the pretty lights in the sky. I didn't mind the little pops, but the big bangs made me a bit nervous. It was pretty fun though watching the lights and having Mommy hug me.
Oh! And on the way home, a lady stopped and said I was beautiful and she pet me. I got the attention intstead of Biscuit! I was so happy. Usually people are afraid of me because I'm a big black dog or they pay attention to Biscuit because she's smaller.
This morning Mommy woke up to a call from a very excited Jovi.
"WAKE UP!!!! YOU'RE DOG OF THE DAY!!!!!" BOL
Sure enough, there's my mug on the front page! Dude, I'm DOTD!!
Wow, I sure am thrilled. Thanks very much HQ! And thanks to all my friends for all the love they've been sending me. *hugs*
This has been a great weekend. First, Mom buys me a new red Kong ball and some liver treats and now this! Mom says she's going to make me something special for dinner tonight to celebrate. I hope it's steak!!!
The people took Biscuit and I to McDonald's and I got half an ice cream sundae and TWO double cheeseburgers!! It was great! Then we went for a truck ride and ended up at PetsMart where I met some other dogs and got to pick out whatever I wanted! I got a HUGE roasted, basted bone that's bigger than Biscuit! She got a little one (which I ate on her later).
Mommy says that Grandma is baking me my own meatloaf cake and that she's bringing me presents this weekend!
To make it even better, I found out today that I won the Mr. Pawniverse 2007 competition and the Canada Day Photoshopped Contest! Woo hoo!
But the best part is all the love I got from my friends.
Thanks to everyone who sent me a rosette or star! You guys rock!
