Snickers is our first born. We had just got our own place and decided it was time for a visit from the dog fairy. We just picked up one Saturday and went to a few local shelters. At the last shelter we visited, we walked around the entire shelter and we immediately came back to Snicks holding a little plastic yellow football in his mouth. We were allowed to take him outside and play with him in the yard to see if we were compatible and sure enough, he was playing hide and seek with us behind the trees in about 5 minutes. About 15 minutes later, we were filling out adoption papers.
Snickers came from a pretty rough background. We were told before he came to the shelter, he had been tied by his neck to a tree on a farm and basically left to die. So he had a few minor "issues" when got him. He hated collars, car rides and anything that made really loud, quick noises. It took him a long time to trust us and allow us, truly into his life. However, once we got past all of the little things, we were on our way. He definitely is a lover and if he had it his way, would get rub downs ALL DAY LONG! He is a great big brother to his 3 siblings and we love him very much.
