With extreme sadness

This is the last entry in Toby's diary. Christmas day 2007 was the most wonderful day! The next night, on the 26th, Toby started acting like his stomach was upset, and I took him to the vet first thing on the 27th. She diagnosed him with prostrate trouble, and felt he had a cyst on his prostate, and recomended that it be removed. She was going to do the surgery that morning, but his blood work came back a little off, and she felt it would be best to wait until the next day, and give him IV anti biotics. That night, his prostate ruptured. Dr. Bailey did emergency surgery on him the morning of the 28th, and discovered that my beloved Toby had cancer in his prostate, bladder, and kidneys. It was the hardest thing I ever did having to tell her to tell him how much I loved him and to let him go... Needless to say, I will never be the same again. My life seems so empty as I'm writing this. I do thank God that my Toby did not suffer. His illness was very short and fast, and for that, I am so thankful. I am thankful for a caring and loving vet, and for a family that is there to support me. Trixie, Zoey, Hannah, Pump Jack, and Bailey are all very sad and confused. Please keep them in your thoughts. And Toby, wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge! We'll be there someday to get you, and it will be a wonderful reunion! I love you Tobus!

I'm back!

Hi everyone. Well I haven't written in my diary in a year! It's been a tough year on me and my mom, and my other doggie sibblings... :o( My buddy Beau went to the Rainbow bridge last August, and my mom has had a very hard time adjusting to life with out the little guy! We're going to be ok though. I did want to give everyone a warning though! You see, Beau was not doing anything wrong on the morning of August 29,2006. He was lying in the sun on a chair on our deck, just enjoying the day. He must have heard a noise or decided to chase a butterfly, because when he jumped off the chair his dog tag got hung up in the chair. He was a little guy,and not big enough to reach the ground. By the time my dad came back into the yard, it was too late for him to save Beau. PLEASE, please, please, don't leave hang down tags on your small dogs! My mom found us some cool little flat tags that just slide onto our collars. That way, if we get out or get lost, we have our information with us, but they won't get hung up on something! Well, I've missed ya'll! I'm glad to be back! Watch for my new little sister Trixie! She will have her sight up soon!

I'm Back!

Hi all! I'm back from my camping trip! We had so much fun! Beau got to go too, and I was glad that he did, except that he kept barking at the other dogs in the RV park. I met a really nice dog named Murphy, and we had fun playing at the park. Beau didn't like playing, he just wanted to be a pain in my tail side! All in all though we had a good time, and it was great fun being there with my Mom and Dad! I loved riding around in the mountains with the windows down! It smelles ssssoooooooooooo good! The air was so fresh and clean after a rain, and the trees smelled so much better than the ones at our house!
Well, need to run, Dad is in his recliner, and has an empty lap. Guess I better go curl up and take a quick snooze before bedtime. Talk to you all later.

It's Friday!!!

Well, today wasn't very eventful, except for helping my Mom and Dad get ready to go camping. I'm so excited to be going! I love to stay in the camper! My Mom said that I'm the only fuzz baby that gets to go too! Hannah, Beau and Pump Jack are going to stay home with the girls.
I can't write much more, I have to go gather up my lease and toys for the trip. Ya'll have a good weekend, and I'll write and let you know how the camping trip went.

Hi! Well not too much going on here in my world. My Grandpa sent my Mom a new picture of my Uncle Spike. I'm going to put it on my page for Ya'll to see. Spike is a really great guy (a little hyper active maybe, but he's a good sleeper too... as you can see from the picture). Better run now, it's almost time to tell Dad to get us cookies! Welcome to Toby's world

Hi all. Well yesterday was so hard on me! My mom had to go to work, and that Katelan had a bunch of her friends came over here to swim. Well, that was ok, until they ALL started telling me that my mom was going to trade me for a goat and started making goat sounds at me! It made me so mad, I really told them off! That Kyler boy that hangs around with Kate was the worst! I could hardly wait till my mom got home to tell her, and I really told on them too! That will fix them! My mom said she would spank them all, she didn't care that they were all so big! (Actually, I kinda like the attention from them.)
Today is nice, and my mom doesn't have to work till late this afternoon, so we have been sitting on the deck. Mom is reading, and I have been laying in the sun. It's such a beautiful day, and so quiet without those kids around. Well better get back outside before she realizes I'm on her computer again. Besides, I better go watch Beau. No telling what he'll get into! Love ya'll!

You have got to try this!!!

Hi all! It's me... Toby, just checkin in to tell you about the fun we had last night! My mom and dad took us to the drive in theatre to see "War of the Worlds". It was so much fun to watch the movie on that big screen! I wasn't afraid of those aliens, but Beau was! He barked at them, but they wern't scared and didn't go away! They were sure ugly, and all the humans were very afraid of them (they didn't have any big strong Yorkies like me to protect them).
Then today, we swam most of the afternoon... If I tell you a secret, promise not to tell my mom?... I don't really like to swim very much. Beau ,Zoey and Hannah do, but Pump Jack and I really don't care much for it. I know mom likes to put us in our little boat in the pool and let us float around, but I just do it to make her happy. Please don't tell her, she thinks it's really fun!
Well better check on Beau now, no telling what that boy is into. Bye!

It's Toby's World..... we're just livin in it!

Hi all... It's me Toby! Well, my toe is much better now. I can even run and chase Beau and Zoey, and play with Hannah. Thanks to all my friends that inquired! I really appreciate your concern.
Today was fun! I went with my Mom and Dad to a street fair near our house. I was the only furry that got to go, and Beau and Pump Jack and Hannah had to stay home... Nanny Nanny Boo Boo! I had a great time too! We had funnel cake and all kinds of goodies! I wanted to ride the little train, but my mom wouldn't let me :o( Oh well, I had a great time anyway.
Well, better go play with Beau. He's still a little put out that I got to go and he didn't. Take care all and I'll be talking to you soon!

Love those Dog Days of summer!

Hi, it's me.... Toby! Thanks to all my friends that have been so concerned about my toe. It is feeling much better, and sometimes I even forget that it's hurt and walk pretty normally on it. In fact today, I forgot about it until my Mom ask me about it, then I had to hold my foot up and look sad so that she wouldn't feel bad about asking. The only thing was.... I forgot which foot it was, so I just held the right one up for a while, then the left one. That way I was sure I had the right one at least half the time. My Mom and Dad said I was pretty silly, but it sounded good to me at the time.
Well, my Mom doesn't work until late this evening, so we have been hanging out again today. Beau and Pump Jack are napping on the couch, and Zoey is going to come play in a while. We might even get to go swimming!!! I love swimming!!! Better run make sure my floatie is aired up!

What a great day!!!

Oh my goodness! I haven't written anything in my diary for such a long time! It has been very difficult! You see, I got on the picnic table on the back porch, and when I went to jump off I caught my toe nail and tore it clear off! OUCH! It hurt so bad! I haven't been able to walk on it for a few days now, and I sure couldn't type! It wasn't all bad though, my Mom had a day off today and I got to spend the whole day with her! Hannah and Mom and I went to the big barn with Dad and helped him move the farm equipment around. It was really fun riding in the tractors! Then we went to the supply store and they gave Hannah and I cookies! Then this evening Mom and I sat on the porch (I just sat on her lap, she likes it when I do that) and enjoyed the evening. But the very best thing was that Katelan was nice to me... I think she feels sorry for me cuz my toe hurts. Well, better go see what Beau is up to! No telling with him, and he gets in soooo much mischeif sometimes! Better run! Bye!
