As of May 1, Dixie is now a big sister! There's a new puppy at the house. At first, Dixie didn't know what to think, but now she and the puppy get along great. Dixie is very gentle and kind toward the puppy, and they play every day together. The little puppy, Jackie, adores Dixie and follows her everywhere!

Dixie got to take a Florida vacation the week of July 4. She had such fun being at the beach again -- frolicking and playing and chasing the little crabs in the surf! Dixie loves to travel and experience new things!
On the way back to Texas, Dixie stopped for a little while in New Orleans. She wanted to explore some of the old cemeteries, but they were already closed for the evening. Well, maybe next time!
A few weeks ago, Dixie got to go out in the country and see some cows. At first she wasn't too interested, but then one cow in particular caught her attention, and she bowed down to him, inviting him to play! Dixie and her new friend watched each other through the fence, and ran back and forth a little. I wonder if Dixie thought that cow was just a really big dog?

Today, around 9:30 AM:
Dixie: Bark! Bark! Bark!
me: Dixie, Dixie, come here!
(mail lady becomes visible)
Dixie: Bark! Bark! Bark!
me: Dixie!
mail lady: Is the dog's name Dixie??
me: Yes
mail lady: And the dog gets mail??
(she holds up an envelope, clearly addressed to "Dixie")
A friend of Dixie's in Georgia had written her a letter! "Mommy" read the letter aloud. Dixie
grinned and wagged her tail. Dixie sure is lucky to have so many friends!
