   Leave a bone for Jockomo

Biggie Mo, Jockomo Johnny, The Moster, Mr. Jacques Comeaux, Mojo

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

Stalking and chasing affter squirrels in the park. Also loves talking to the voices inside of his head - usually in the form of grunts!

That darn "creaky" dresser that makes noises everytime the weather changes. And freakin' HURRICANES!

Favorite Toy:
Life is nothing but a big toy store to Mo, and everything is up for grabs!. He is pretty picky when it comes to the store-made doggie toys.

Favorite Food:
Peanut butter, cheese, any BBQ, chocolate pudding, spinach-feta bagel spread (he spits out the spinach . . . . hates the veggies!)

Favorite Walk:
It may not have as many trees and squirrely squirrels now after Katrina, but Audubon Park and "The Fly"

Best Tricks:
Sure, he can sit, down, stay, etc. But if you ask him "WHY" he will cock his head to the side, pondering the query, yet deep in his heart knowing you had the answer inside of you the entire time. (gets creepy after a while)

Arrival Story:
Long story cut short . . . A former rugby teammate of Ex-hubby had a RR (Nala) who was ready to give birth to her first litter. Ex was not a "pet person" - totally different from myself. We went to sit in the new puppy "love den" and Mo came up to me, cuddled up in my lap, and began to gnaw on my cell phone. He had some issues (defect in ridge, typical puppy heart murmur, runty in a RR way). Basically, he was going to be passed by. I begged, whined, boo-hooed, argued, pitched conniptions, etc. until ex-hubby caved. They had a love hate relationship (some weird dude thing at first), but then he started calling Biggie Mo "My Son". Last I heard, ex got a Ridgeback of his own ("Luke"). *Thank you John and Debbie for Moster. As you probably know, he saved my life . . . and continues to do so on a daily basis!

We will be moving soon (have to be out by January 1st). But I will still be Jockomo "UPT" Johnny - just a few miles from where we are, and still Uptown . . . IF this apartment comes through.

Forums Motto:
Bring it on, you squirrely squirrel!

My Tail of Devotion for Jockomo

Jockomo Johnny,

You saved my life in 2002 - a dark time when I felt that my life was not worth living.

In 2005, a hurricane passed through. No one would let you come to a shelter with me, and I was not going to leave you, my hero, behind.

You and I both know that if either one of us were on our own after August 29, 2005, we wouldn't have made it out of New Orleans alive. And because we stayed together, we survived.

I love you, Mo. You are the heart and soul, and the bark and bite of my life.

Yeah, baby! I got myself connected today - WHOO HOO!!!

You know, I love New Orleans, but after Entergy cut our power off by mistake and having to break out the batteries and candles again was pretty ****** up. And Cox Cable jerking me and Mom around about a hook-up date was quite ****** up as well. And Mom taking four hours to get new tires after three plugs, two eggs, and a busted tread/belt thingy made my ridge stand up (only to find one of the new tires flat the next morning while on our way to the park!).

The muckity mucks are laying off teachers while Burger King is giving signing bonuses.

(Yup. My head cocked to the side in question, too.)

But, I'm OK. Really. I mean, we gotta roll with the punches, right? That's cool. But I'm about to punch back. A dog can only take so much.

A New Beginning

We made the move and it's ALL GOOD! The new place needs some work, but it ROCKS! Unfortunately, Mom can't get cable/internet for a while, but we found this cool-ass cafe around the corner that has the hook-up. Man, it's so good to be back online, even if it's not for long.

I'll try to be quick: We are doing ok, but Mom is busting her butt trying to get business taken care of and getting the apartment free of Katrina Krap! I don't think I can explain what this move meant to us. We finally feel like we are "alive" again. Once Mom brought me to the new apartment, she said that she would never take me back to the other place again. Actually, she couldn't stand going back to get the last of her things - she said something about how every time she walked in there, it was like the hurricane was yesterday. Time has stood still since August 29th. But now, with this new place, we can just *feel* again.

. . . And it feels sooooo good!!!

OK, gotta get to stepping. To all my Dogster buddies - KEEP ON KEEPING ON! And big licks to all of you!!!

- JJ
