Sitting on laps, smelling flowers (seriously!), taking up space, and car rides.
Being called a small horse. Okay, stupid little kids look at me and say "doggie!!!" But grown up adult humans? They think they have to be SOOOOO clever, and say something like, "Hey! You got a saddle for that thing?" THAT THING???? I'm a DOG!
Good Cuz, Bad Cuz. Any color, any size! Chewing the feet off is just an undescribable delight!
POPCORN, ice cubes, and weeds that make me throw up.
Oh, is that when I put my human at the end of my leash and drag her around? Yeah, that's fun!
Pushing Mommy out of the bed when I stretch my legs; flooding the kitchen every time I take a drink.
It was fate. I was finally ready for another Dane in my life. I have always been a sucker for merles, and when I saw his face (divided right down the middle!), I knew he was the one. He was already adopted by someone else, and at the last minute, they couldn't take him. So I drove 14 hours from Providence to Cleveland, through a dangerous icy storm to finally meet him! His former "mommy" is now one of my dearest friends.
Spoiled, spoiled, and more spoiled! Bentley gets way too much attention. He is a regular at Pottery Barn, and Starbucks. Bentley is just one unique guy, with a unique personality! He gets along with anyone, human or beast. So many people in our neighborhood and at the dog parks know him by name... and I've never met most of them! He has all the dane quirks, of course. He rides in the backseat of my car with his head out one window, tail out the other. He leans like crazy! He also sits on my lap, with his front feet on the floor. He has learned some interesting commands because of his size & strength... he knows "no kitty" means don't chase that cat! He also knows the command "basketball player!" That came from my roommate back in RI... when Bentley was counter-surfing one day, she sat him down and had a conversation with him about how basketball players are tall, but that doesn't mean they are allowed to look over the dressing room doors. So whenever Bentley tries to stick his tall head where it doesn't belong, we say "basketball player," and he backs off!
I ate Miracle-Gro.

It has been such an exciting weekend, and it's still only Saturday! Last night, I attended the Muttropolis grand opening cocktail party with Mom. I got more attention than any dog should ever have! And my friend Boudro was there, too! We let our humans get feeling pretty good from the free champagne, and then we talked 'em into buying lots of overpriced treats and toys for us. At one point, I took a toy in my mouth, and walked it to the checkout, and put it up on the counter. How could Mom NOT buy it??? (So now I have a new squeaky monkey!).
Today, we went back to Muttropolis, and me & Reini had professional portraits done. Mine turned out so handsome! Mom bought a special frame for each of our pictures.
Then, after all that fun, we got to go to the park! We ran and played like crazy today, and it was FUN!!! Once, though, I got to playing with a yellow lab, and I kind of stumbled over him, and I fell on my face really hard. It hurt, but I shook it off. Now I'm home, and totally exhausted. I wonder what tomorrow holds in store?

Today is Thanksgiving, and I am already passed out on Mommy's bed. We played all morning at the park with ALL my good friends: Emma, Mia, Tank, Deisel, Shadow, Dharma, Tango, Zoe, Jasmine, and all the others. It was GREAT FUN!!! Then I got my breakfast with TWO eggs this morning. What a great holiday.
Mommy is a little bit sad that she is spending the holiday without her family, but she's glad it's with me & Reini! At least she's not completely alone. She has called everyone on the phone to wish them a happy Thanksgiving.
I keep watching Mommy put all of her stuff in boxes. There's almost nothing left in this place! Thank dog she hasn't put our toys and food in a box! I'm keeping a close eye on those. We are moving to Tucson in a week. We are going to get spoiled even more there! Mommy has a great, exciting new job. She will have weekends off to spend with me & Reini for the first time ever! And she won't have to work late at night anymore. Life is going to be soooo good.

Okay, it seems like a lot of dogsters actually read my diary, so I'm putting out a request for everywoof to do some wishful thinking for my mommy this week. Wish number one, as always, is for mommy's sister to be well. Wish number two (pale in comparison) is for mommy to finally get the job offer for her new job in Tucson. Let's all think positive, pups, and good things will happen in the world around us! Actually, I just want Mom to get the job so I can have lots more toys and treats. That's my idea of good things happening in the world! Gotta go! See ya on the forums!
