Dear Diary,

I had a really nice day today. It has been over 100* for six days in a row! Before that it was in the high 90's. I do not enjoy the heat. I get a little mean when the temperatures rises. The last time we were at the dog park, I was not feeling well due the heat and a corn cob that I could not pass sitting in my tummy. I growled and snapped at a Bull Mastiff that Mom says would have torn me apart. When he backed down, I was feeling pretty top dog, so I attacked another dog that was just sitting down. Mom and Dad were pretty upset with me and made me leave the park immediately. Mom just could not stay mad, so she took me on a short walk and swim.

This weekend I unexpectedly had a sleep over. Ben Jr., a handsome Austrailian Shepard, came to stay with us from Friday to Sunday. Ben Jr. is very timid and shy. He is also very polite. I (according to my mom and dad) have none of the caracteristics mentioned above. I was only trying to get Ben Jr. to play with me, but everyone else saw it as me being a "spoiled brat". Furthermore, I had honestly forgotten about some of the toys Ben Jr. wanted to play with, but they were all my favorites once I remembered I had them.
Can't keep my paws off the poppiesJune 20th 2005 8:49 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Well, the poppies lasted almost one day. Luckily Sarah got home first. I took kind of a gamble, sometimes Loc is the first one home. Then I would have been in a lot of trouble! Sarah is not a great disciplinarian; she says I am too cute to get or stay mad at.
Adventures from the dog parkJune 19th 2005 7:47 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Today it was really hot. Mom and I took a nice long nap in the air conditioned bedroom in the afternoon. Later, when it cooled off, we went to the Berkeley dog park. I now know when we are going there, so I start barking and baying about seven blocks away. There were not too many dogs there, probably less than twenty. I saw a lot of my old friends, but also meet a beautiful black lab named Lacey. I have recently been trying new things, like peeing with my leg up and humping, and decided to try one of these activities. Unfortunately, another dog also took a liking to Lacey, and we got into a little scuffle. I am not very agressive and was very surprised by this other dogs reaction, so I started to yelp. (I usually do this before I even get hurt). Shortly after that we had to leave the dog park, because sometimes I have a hard time calming down after an altercation with another dog.
