Arrival Story:
Belle lived most of her life outside in a yard in Salinas, CA. She was not given much attention and had many lonely hours looking through the fence at the dogs next door. When her owners decided to move to France, they were planning to send Belle to the SPCA. Because she is an older dog, the neighbors (our parents/in-laws) worried she would not be adopted and took her in to their brood of 3 large dogs. We visited one weekend in May and knew how sweet Belle is and felt that if we could give her a loving home for her remaining years that we absolutely should. The next weekend she was driven the two day drive to Seattle to her new home. We love her very much and she is getting along famously with our cats. She goes to dog day care one day a week and gets lots of love and attention from us. She has had no problem adjusting to her new surroundings. We plan to give her a lifetime of love in the few years she has left with us.
