Arrival Story:
i got abby in 1999 from greyhound rescue austin and her sister mara 5 months later. abby had been in the local kill-shelter and was rescued by the greyhound folks in town. because she was starving and had babesia she had to be carried out of the shelter. she was almost put to sleep but the greyhound folks wer able to nurse her back to health. she went to live with a family before she came to me who returned her because she ran through and broke a screen door (something i have done many times - like mother like daughter!). so she became mine, and is my heart dog and truly her mother's girl.

after three years in austin, texas, and one in raleigh, nc, we moved to germany in may 2003. We spend as much time as possible traveling around europe, and the dogs are always with us. abby was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in januray 0f 2004, and was a happy tripod for 17 months until we had to let her go to the rainbow bridge on june 15, 2005. her mommy misses her every single day.
