Arrival Story:
"Prudence" was on the North County Humane Society's website, and after a phone call to make sure she was still available, we drove out to meet her. When we arrived, she wasn't in her kennel, but we noticed a dog that looked like her in the adoption pen. We asked if this was Prudence, was told she was, and that she was on her way to a local pet store for adoption. We started playing with her, and two licks to the face later, we were proud new parents. We decided she didn't really look like a Prudence, so she was renamed "Kona".

Bio:
Beware if you come to Kona's house. She is very excited to receive visitors and will kiss you for hours if given the chance. She will also give you sad eyes if you have food and have not shared. For some unknown reason, she thinks she is a lap dog and will not hesitate to join you on the sofa, bed, etc.

Lizards and broken collars

I have been very busy doing my dog things and haven't had time to do an entry in a while. Where should I start? Well, Mama A and I have been going on walks almost every day. Thursdays are the best because the firemen wash their truck on that day, and we get to walk by and see them. They are nice to me (and nice to see).
A lizard came into the house a few weeks ago. I grabbed it and threw it behind the sofa. Its not my fault it decided to run up into the sofa. Mama A and Mama D were not happy with me because it took a while for them to find it and get it out of the house. Dumb lizard shouldn't have come inside to begin with. Next time I will throw it outside.
On Tuesday, Mama A was doing some yard work on the side of the house and she had me outside with her on my tether. Another dog was walking by with its person, and I wanted to go over and say hello, but I was tied to the fence. So I pulled really hard and popped my collar off and ran across the street to see the other dog. Mama A came chasing after me, apologizing to the person and saying I wasn't a mean dog. I wasn't being mean, I just wanted to see the other dog. After I went inside the house, Mama A was mad at me because I had broken my collar. Oh well. I was getting tired of that collar anyway. I have a nice bright red one now.
Tomorrow I am going to the doggie spa for a bubble bath and facial. If mom takes pictures, I will have her put them up on my page. She's says I look cute with my blueberry facial all over my face.
That's all for now. Stay cool. Its supposed to be hot tomorrow. WOOF!

Year in Review

I haven't updated my diary in a while. I have been very busy doing many things, that unless you're a dog, you wouldn't understand. I decided to take a minute from my very busy social schedule and discuss 2007.
It has been a very big year for me. I had a bit part in a real Hollywood movie, that unfortunately, mostly ended up on the cutting room floor. But I had the opportunity to experience the movie star lifestyle I am so deserving of. It was nice.
Then, I took part in a fashion show for Mama A's work. Now I'm not one to dress up in clothes and prance around like I'm a Versace model. Far from it, I would rather play football with the kids at the high school. But Mama A took me to work with her and I ended up wearing a few outfits and snapping a few pictures and walking the dogwalk a few times. I also got to spend time with Riley, the cute little boy-toy who's mama is friends with my mama. I like him a lot, even though he is shorter then me and I usually like British dogs.
I had my picture published in a book called "World's Cutest Pets From Around the World". There are actually two picyures of me in it, and Riley also has a picture in it.
I got to spend some time with Aunt Pati while Mama A and Mama D went to Mexico. Aunt Pati stayed over and we had a good ol' time, going on walks, playing ball, stealing food, it was fun. I didn't really want to go to Mexico because the food is so spicy, so I'm glad I was able to stay and spend time with my tia.
I also made a new friend named Mackey. He is an American Bulldog and his mama works with Mama A. He likes to jump a lot, which I'm cool with, as long as he doesn't jump on me.
I made out good this Christmas with a really good haul of toys. Most of them are now shredded but I still enjoyed them. I got this giant reindeer head that made these weird noises when you shook it, so that one was the first to get ripped up, so I could see what was inside. I also got my favorite stinky face bones from Cousin Perry. I think she was trying to make up for the carpet incident at Thanksgiving.
Well, the year is over, I'm another year older and another year more spoiled, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm hoping 2008 has more visits to the fire station so I can visit my firemen friends, maybe another movie or I might even try some TV. I hope all my friends, animal and human, have a safe New Year's Eve and a great 2008. I hope to see you all during the year. Woof!

There was thunder last night. I wasn't interested. Fireworks make the same noise and at least there is something to look at.
I tore my red candy cane toy apart. Mama A kept tapping the top of my head with it. Now she can't. Ha ha at her.
Cousin Poo-Poo Perry gave me a bunch of bags of turkey jerky. Mama A hides them from me because she says I can't have it all at once. Its mine and I'm entitled. I will find them.
The firemen were up the street today. I like the firemen. They pay attention to me and I give them kisses. Maybe they will let me ride in their truck.
That's all for today. I have mayhem to cause.
