His passing:-- I am sad to report that Jake passed away on April 14, 2007. He was with his loving family who miss him dearly. He was a wonderful companion and loving member of the family. He protected all of us always, even in the end. His brother Riley, is sad and a bit lonely. Riley took care of Jake the last few months always getting us in the middle of the night when Jake needed us. He learned a great deal from Jake and I know he feels lucky to have had him as a brother for the last year and half. Thank you to all of you who left dogster recognitions and the kind words you had written us about Jake. Original Bio:-- Jake is a kind, gentle loving dog who is loved by all who meet him. He is sensitive and looks to please. He puts others before himself. His girlfriend's name was Samantha, who was blind, but very beautiful. He was very protective of her and very patient with her. She would only take a walk if Jake went with her. Sadly Samantha passed away, which left Jake very sad. Jake up to two months ago, still loved running on trails and could walk for hours. He has slowed down recently, but his smile can warm anyone's heart. At a contest at my school last year (to raise money for a local animal shelter) Jake won kindest face and #1 overall. Jake has also walked in several fund raisers.
