Arrival Story:
Gus was rescued by Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas (www.goldenretrievers.org) and became the foster dog I couldn't part with!!

Bio:
Gus' past is uncertain - but we do know that he was shot when he was young and had to have his leg amputated. His previous owners allowed him to become 20 pounds overweight and have no manners. When he came to us he was pushy and knew little, except how to get his way all of the time. Gus has lost 22 pounds and passed his basic obedience class at 7 years of age. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!! His manners are still not perfect, but have improved greatly. He has also become the spokes-dog for the rescue group who saved him and loves to be the center of attention at the events! Gus is a great addition to our family!!
