Arrival Story:
In 1985 my family moved form Germany to El Paso, Texas. I was not in the picture than, but after a housebreaking my future mom wanted a dog to protect the family and house! That's when Dad and Mom started arguing what kind of dog would be the best! Dad wanted a Fox Terrier because he had one when he was a child and Mom wanted a Boxer for the same reason! So they said size of a Boxer but a Terrier is what we want! And that was me Marlin the Airedale from Las Cruses, New Mexico! My full name is Marlin del Paso del Norte .... what a name !!! I was 6 month when my new family came and picked me up. I was so happy when they came because I was the only puppy left in the litter. In my now kome threre were 3 children, 2 boys, age 6 and 3 and a baby girl 1 1/2. I loved that little girl, but her diapers even more ;-) ! My Mom wasn't very happy about that. She always said: Marlin you bad boy!! Don't eat that stinky diaper !!! Did not understand why not..........they were sooo good ;-) !! After 4 wonderful years in El Paso and another little baby girl it was time to pack and move back to Germany. We moved in to a big house with a even bigger garden! I loved to be out there and run under the big oaktrees. But more interesing where the neighors backyard! My Mom said it's a nursery, but I couldn't care less what is was, I only was interested in the neighbors dogs. 2 beautiful German Shepards, these girls were on my mind day and night and I visited them as often as I could. Mom was not happy about that and the neighbor chased me away with a brom! Time was runing and life was pretty good. I was about 12 when my family thought i was getting to lazy and they decided I needed company. And one nice summer day they brought home Chester! So much for lazy days for me! He was a little pest from day one! He stole my food and my toys and when I growled at him Mom said: Marlin! He's just a baby! Be nice to the cute little baby Airedale!!! Well, I started to ignore the pest and tried to sleep even more. I was sooo tired all the time! Then came the time was was not even willing to go for a walk and my Mom took me to the Vet. I didn't understand what he was saying but Mom was very sad and cried. I just licked her tears away! A couple of weeks later I woke up at night and saw a beautiful light, it was so bright and I just wanted to go and see it up close! That night I had to leave my family and go where all the pets go! I will wait for them at the other side of the rainbow brigde !!!
