Went to the Humane Society against my will - did NOT want a dog - This little guy had just come up for adoption that day. He was an owner surrender. He was too cute... we took him home and I absolutely fell in love! Now I can't imagine how I ever managed without him.
***UPDATE - 10/03/2007***
It is with a broken heart that I write this evening.
After fighting kidney disease for over two weeks, I was faced with the decision to have to put Mr. Pickles to sleep. This afternoon, the vet informed me that there was nothing else that they could do to preserve his quality of life. So, at 5:45 this afternoon, Mr. Pickles left this life, almost 3 years to the day that he came into mine.
While I am very sad to have had to say goodbye to such a young, vibrant soul, it has been an honor and a blessing to have him in my life for the short time that I did. He brought me more happiness, laughter, and love than I ever would have imagined. He delighted me with his personality, as he did everyone who crossed paths with him. This is how I will always remember him.
I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you to support your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter. Without their work, I never would have found this little guy in the first place.
Be well, Doolebug... You will be missed.

I am so excited I can barely sleep. Tomorrow is school day. I get to run and run and play and run and sniff dogs and run and play and sniff and jump and ... whew ... I almost wore myself out just getting worked up over it! Mom says I have to get my nails trimmed but that will only take a minute so I'll suffer through it because I get to run and run and play and run and sniff and pee and run and sniff and jump and ...pant pant pant... OOOOHHHH I can't wait to go to Day Care tomorrow!!!
