Likes:
I love eating (anything, really), being petted, having my ears scratched, barking, chewing on my paws (nasty habit, I know), rubbing on the furniture, making "snow angels" on the carpet, and going for W-A-L-K-S.
Pet-Peeves:
My nemesis, the Dyson Animal Vacuum! GRRRR! I hate having my feet touched and my nails clipped. I'm also not fond of B-A-T-H-S or going to see Dr. Sam (although he is super nice and always gives me an extra cookie, even when I poop on the floor).
Favorite Toy:
I have so many! I love my chewy steak, my flashing yellow ball, the ring toy from Grandma, any stuffed toys to shred, my KONG (as long as there's a treat inside), and my mom's shoes.
Favorite Food:
People food, please! Anything my mom has, I want it. I especially love popcorn, peanut butter, ice cubes, and vanilla ice cream. If I had to stick to dog stuff, I'd choose Greenies, TBONZ, or Polka Dog treats from that yummy doggie bakery in Boston.
Favorite Walk:
Preferably anywhere other dogs have been. There's lots of sniffing to do--and not as much walking as my mom would like!
Best Tricks:
I am great at stealing--especially shoes and toilet paper. Grandma is trying to teach me "quiet," but I have a lot to say.
Arrival Story:
When my mom lived in San Francisco, there was the sweetest corgi in her neighborhood! She would always see him out and about with his dad and loved how he was so friendly and low to the ground. Once she moved to South Dakota and got a house, she wanted a puppy. She did lots of research and kept coming back to corgis because we're so cute and smart! One of her coworkers had a corgi from a local kennel--Fairview Kennels in Yankton, SD--and recommended that she check them out. So she got in touch with the owners and was put on a list for their next litter. When my siblings and I were born, she looked at the pictures online and chose me for my expressive eyebrows! At eight weeks of age I came home to live with her, and the rest is history.
About my name: My registered name is "Pumpkin Pie a la mode" because I'm the color of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. But my Grandma decided that I needed a middle name just in case I was ever naughty (aw, c'mon--like that ever happens). Since Pie is such a short name, my mom picked Elizabeth because it has a lot of "oomph" and syllables, and because Queen Elizabeth II loves us corgis! When I'm really naughty, my mom adds even more names: Pie Elizabeth Katherine Frances! That's when I know I'm in big trouble.
