My Autumn Wardrobe

Yes, fall is almost here, and it's time for a new collar. My current one is adorable and highly fashionable - brown with light blue polka dots. However, time and rolling in fish fertilizer have taken their toll, and my dapper factor is seriously deteriorating. I've been paging through the New York Times style section trying to get a hit on the fall trends, but alas, few styles make it to the petite section without descending into hot pink and rhinestones. Please! Just because I'm on the delicate side does NOT mean I will cross dress.

Chez Petit Chien

Well, it's been some time since my last entry. Dogster temporarily lost our account, so I couldn't post anything for awhile. It's hard enough for me to type with my little paws as it is, much less create a new account - plus my pics are too cute just the way they are. There's no messing with perfection.

Today I overheard a conversation between Mom and her boyfriend - I call him Dad. He was asking her who was cuter, me or him, and I was most pleased that she replied, "Virgil!' without any hesitation. As proof she cited the fact that people stop me on the street all the time to tell me how cute I am, but then Dad said the same thing happens to him. As if.

Mom went out of town for a little while, so I got to stay with Grandma. I looooove staying over there - she takes me to the small dog park in Alameda all the time, though I prefer to call it Chez Petit Chien - much more sophisticated. All the dogs are my size, so they're all perfectly within humping range. I also like to pee on the legs of the chairs when people are sitting in them, just to see them freak out. I have no idea why Mom gets so embarrassed. Humans are so strange about which things are acceptable to pee on. I swear, it all looks like a W.C. to me.

Sick Day

Stayed in today, because my tum-tum...uh....stomach, that is, was feeling upset. It happens to me once in awhile for no reason in particular. Sometimes I get sick from gobbling delicious things I find on the sidewalks before Mom can prevent me, but not this time. Maybe it's an Italian Greyhound thing. Anyway, I get all shivery and all I want to do is hang out with Mom and have her pet my head. Sometimes I pretend like I'm gonna puke and she jumps up and grabs the paper towels, but I'm usually just faking. Heh heh. Then I puke for real on the rug while she's out, so it has plenty of time to sink in.

This bug will wear off in a little while, and I'll get up and eat something in the middle of the night. Then I'll jump back in bed and lick Mom's nose to let her know I'm feeling better, and to wake her up so she'll hold up the blankets for me to get back under. She's gotten so good at my cue that she'll hold blankets for me in her sleep!
