Arrival Story:
Ruby's mom came to an emergency clinic in Phoenix, AZ, having been hit by a car. She was treated, then discovered to be pregnant. After giving birth to 4 pups, mom and litter were brought home to be cared for by one of the clinic's employees. This employee happened to be a neighbor of my sister. When my sister caught wind of these puppies, she urged me to adopt one of them, saying that my beloved Stella, then 16, wasn't going to be around forever, and a puppy would help to 'cushion' the loss. After some coercion and 'hardball tactics,' I gave in after seeing a photo of Ruby. I flew to Phoenix and brought Ruby home on my birthday last February. She has been a joy and was most definitely a comfort when I lost my dear Stella last November. So, sometimes, sisters DO know best!
