Arrival Story:
I was rescued by Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization (H.A.L.O.) after being red tagged at a local kill shelter. I spent some time with the organization until I chose to adopt my Mom and Dad one evening after sleeping on Daddy's lap for three hours during a visit. Mom fell in love with me, so my spell worked. They couldn't help it, I looked at them with my pitful lil' eyes, pulled my ears back, and furrowed my doggy brows until they caved. I even chose my own name!
Bio:
I love to be with people all of the time. In fact, I have a bit of separation anxiety. I spend a lot of time sleeping when I have the chance but I can't sleep when everyone is busy and having fun...I must be a part of the action. Kids love my floppy ears, and I love them. In fact, I love kids becasue they are so generous with thier food! My two best buds are Schatzie (fellow Dachshund) and Chester (a gentle albino Boxer). I'm not crazy about baths but I love to walk in puddles. Anything I can do to get mom to make that silly, scrunched up face is great! My favorite thing to do is act like I can't hear...I get away with so much this way. He he he.

New Year's has come and gone as we find ourselves settling into the cushions of 2008. Mom and dad are busy, as usual, but they haven't forgotten me! We've taken a lot of car trips in the last few months and I've made a few new pup pal friends who keep me on my toes.
Most notabley, mom found this great new spot for us canines. It's a place in town called Whole Dog Barkery and Paw Spa. While mom still chooses to bathe me at home (all 10 lbs. of me) I am privilaged to take trips with her there and pick out fresh-baked yummies. My favorites right now are the cheese puffs and the blueberry puffs. Mmm mm mm good. But I have to admit, I love to knaw on the dried ribs too!
I hope 2008 finds all of my pup pals well. Here's wishing everyone a beautiful night.

It has been crazy around here, I tell ya! Mom got a new job last summer and has been working long hours as a writer for a local magazine. The good thing is she works from home most of the time and I get to snuggle with her all day...although I am getting a little co-dependent on her...I really don't like it when she leaves the room now..let alone leaves me home alone.
In any case, I've had a lot of fun with my furry pals. I've been hanging with my friend Dao a lot since summer, lots of slumber parties. So fun!
I also got new dog stairs for X-Mas so now I can climb up onto the counch...FINALLY! No one can stop me now...I'm SUPER DOG!
Anyhow, I'm sure I have left some stuff out but it's late for lil ol' me and I need some rest. But I missed my pooch pals and wanted to let you all know how I'm doing.

Well, summer is coming to a close, kinda funny since mom is just finishing a novel called Summer Crossing. It's been many woofing months since I've been able to come on here, mom was hogging the computer all the time, something about, "I'm graduating in a few months and I have a lot of work to do...now go play..." Gee wiz!
I can't wait for autumn though! I love hot weather but even I had enough of the heat here! We were in the one hundred teens for weeks and even I didn't want to go outside to go potty. I hate panting that hard, its just not ladylike!
I'm looking forward to getting some new pictures on here, so keep an eye out. Mom has a little free time on her hands so I have a feeling she'll be doing her share of creative stuff.
