Arrival Story:
Ollie was born in El Paso, Texas and was the runt of a very large litter. His dad is an AmStaff named Cain, and his mom is a Boxer named Brittnay. The first person who wanted to adopt Ollie was going to keep him as an outdoor dog in Denver, but the guardian of his parents would not allow this - given that the boy has very little fur on his body. Thank goodness! We got a call from a mutual friend of the guardian who knew we were looking for a companion for Earle, he brought Ollie (then called Baby) to meet us, and they have been best brothers ever since - totally two peas in a pod.

Bio:
Roopert is a sweet lovebug who is exceptionally smart and oh so handsome. He does like to be a rebel at times - we think it's that Texas attitude in him ;o). He is also a very pensive and friendly pooch who likes everyone he meets. He absolutely adores his big brother and foster sister, and he's definitely a momma's boy. Ollie sometimes acts like a feline - he likes to get real low to the ground and stalk his playmates, just like a cat. He also likes to play rough, but even though he talks loud he is always so gentle. At least once a day, we get to watch him "do the backstroke" - usually after a walk or after dinner, he'll roll around on his back and grunt/snort loudly with a big smile on his face. It's quite endearing. Many folks are frightened at first sight of Ollie, but quickly realize they have nothing to fear when they meet him. He is a total cupcake. It's horrible that these kinds of pups have such a bad reputation - it's the irresponsible owners and NOT the dogs who are the problem! They truly are lovers, not fighters - it's all in how they are treated. Along with his big brother, OllRa is better than any dog i had ever hoped for. We are so thankful he was brought to us.
