Leave a bone for Jeter- R.I.P.

Jee-Jee, Jee-Bear, You Big Poop

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog-dog rescue

Watching sports on TV with my daddy, eating (anything), playing in snow, rawhide bones, any kind of treats, belly rubs and my girlfriend Maxie (but not particularly in that order!)

I must have had a really bad former life before I got rescued because I am very nervous. Lots of things bother me . Rain, squirrels, cats, people at the door, riding in cars (cars in general), giving kisses (after all, I'm a guy - I shake hands!)

Favorite Toy:
Rubber hamburger, rubber shoe and rubber dumbbell. (I destroy all of the soft toys).

Favorite Food:
Frosty Paws treats (except now the doc says I may have a food allergy which causes me to get ear infections and the itchies something fierce so I can only have hypoallergenic treats which aren't as much fun to eat!)

Favorite Walk:
Walking to nana's house

Best Tricks:
Mom would give me a treat if I sat down to have my feet cleaned after I was out in the rain, mud, snow, etc. But I'm so smart that I always sit down when I come in now (and I usually get the treat even if I don't have to clean my feet!)

Arrival Story:
I was rescued from the streets of Flushing, Queens by S.A.V.E., a wonderful no-kill animal rescue group ( My mommy and daddy found my picture on the internet (where I was called Dapper). They came to see me, fell in love and brought me home on Nov. 4, 2000. I'm a very lucky guy 'cause I love them very much and they love me to pieces, too! Because despite all of my insecurities, I'm a real mush once you get to know me!

Jeter passed away suddenly last week. He was fine one minute and extremely ill the next. Despite 5 hours of treatment by our vet and the emergency hospital, Jeter stopped breathing and crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 3:30 AM on March 14. We are inconsolable. Any words of comfort that we help us get through this would be greatly appreciated.
