It's all new!

Everything in Rosie's life is new to her. This week she got her first bath - which went well - and her first eardrops - which was less successful! Since she finished her puppy class we've been hard at work practising, she's almost ready for her basic obedience class. This week we've been focused on walking like a little lady, instead of a demonic acrobat!

Poor Rosie has a staph infection, which seems to bother us a lot more than it bothers her - until she found out the cure! As well as her antibiotics, she gets a bath with a special shampoo once a week, and she's not quite sure she loves this. She's very good, but has sad puppy eyes through the whole thing. Still, she loves the towelling off afterwards!

Rosie is so smart!

Rosie is all better now, but while she was being screened for allergies she couldn't have any treats, just kibble and ice cubes. In spite of that she learned "no bark" and I am so proud of her! We live downtown so there are noises everywhere and until last week Rosie felt the urge to bark at every single one. Now, if I'm not watching her, she'll bark once and then look at me to see if I'll tell her to hush. If I am watching I can tell her "no bark" when she gets that intent look, and she won't make any noise at all. I'm thrilled and so are our neighbours!

It's going to be a big week!

Rosie gets spayed on the 7th. We know she'll be fine but I'm a basketcase anyway! Imagine how nuts I'll be while she's actually there! Our vet will let us take her home the same day, so keep your fingers and paws crossed for us that all goes well.

Last Thursday was spay day. Rosie came home that night all groggy but managed to rouse herself enough to eat some kibble (that morning was the first time she's ever skipped a meal!). The next morning she decided that she was all better and wanted to run around and wrestle with Vincent. This has been a very long week, mainly with a wriggly Rosie tied to me. I'm thrilled that she's doing so well but heartily sick of saying "Rosie, no!" On the positive side - the only exercise she was supposed to be getting - moderate leash walking. We spent so much time trailing around the neighbourhood that she finally understands that pulling like a team of mules is bad, walking like a little lady is good

It's a holiday!

Rosie is so excited - she's going on holiday! She and Vincent will be at Camp Woof next week. It's her first time to be boarded and we know she'll have a blast. If you're in Central Ohio and need a place to board your dogs, Camp Woof is ideal. It's in Delaware, lots of romping room - and the owners will treat your dog like their own. They also help with Aussie rescue, so you know they are kind too!

Camp Woof was lovely - there's a link to the site on Vincent's page if you want to check it out. I was sad to be without my mum and dad, but I got to sleep in a big kennel with Vincent so I wasn't lonely at all. I played with him a lot. Nancy (the owner) let me play with a Jack Russell and he kicked my "you know what", but in a good way! Sometimes I'm a bit TOO exuberant!

I went to the park on Sunday and got put in my place again! It was like a German Shepherd convention, there were 6 of us! Me, Vincent, Bella, BluBlu, Tara and Parker Posey. Tara is BluBlu and Parker Posey's mum - she also had Blocker and Jake in the same litter, but they weren't there. Aren't I lucky to have loads of playmates!

Grandpa loves me!

So, we went to Tennessee to visit Grandpa and Ann - and their schnauzer, Jackson. I was so good, I slept for the entire 8 hour drive, except for potty breaks! And I didn't terrorize Jackson one little bit - I just kissed him a bunch! And I only ran too far once - Grandpa doesn't have any fences so I was off leash all the time! I did bark at one of his neighbours, but Grandpa says their dog barks all night and keeps them awake so he was really pleased with me!

He took all my new pics - aren't they fab?! And Ann left a note in my backpack to say how much she liked me! I think that makes me pretty special!

And one more thing - I went paddling for the very first time ever, there are some pics of me wading and pretending to be the Loch Ness Rosie!

OK, we all know that Vincent's number one - what else is new???

But I'm number 3 on the "High Fives" stroll - and number one on the "High Fives Puppies"! I think that's pretty good for a little girl who just turned 9 months old - today!

UPDATE! I got another vote! Now I'm number two!

Big thanks for everyone who gave me a paw rating! I'm so glad you like my page!

Proud of my pal!

His name is Snoopy and he's just awesome. If you read his diary, you can see that there's a whole group of us that adore him! He's had a bit of a hard time here, there are some mean people who just want to spoil a good time.

So, play nice on the forums doggies. If you can't bark something nice, don't bark anything at all. Our humans didn't teach us "hush" for nothing!
