Arrival Story:
Studebaker's a "whippsky" - a whippet husky-cross! He was found in a box in an alley, picked up by Sacramento Animal Control and kindly nursed back to health before I found this adorable little man. His little pink and black nose was too much for me, and I knew my husband liked "stiped-y doggies," so I brought him home for a test evening. His sister Amy much enjoyed the new wrestling buddy, and Studebaker's silliness quickly won the heart of the family. Studebaker started going to doggy daycare when he was about 6 months old, and his social skills shine in that setting. Outside doggy daycare, though, he's shy with new people, and obnoxious about meeting new canine friends. He's really a smart boy, though - he's taken many obedience classes, and loves agility as well. His best talent is singing along - his favorite song is Happy Birthday, but he also enjoys singing along to some Ani DiFranco, Dan Bern, Patrice Pike, and Kris Delmhorst songs. And he loves to join in the hooting on Football Sundays whenever anything exciting happens, and thinks fire engines are his long-lost relatives. The best part about Studebaker is the little happy wiggles he does when he sees one of his best friends, and how he rubs up against you like a cat when he wants to be loved. We introduced him to about 20 dogs before deciding to bring home Billy the Mountain. Studebaker was very patient with us, parading so many dogs past him. He wasn't too sure what to make of Billy in the first few weeks, but he taught Billy to play tug right from the beginning. Now that Billy is a bit bigger, they are the best of wrestling buddies!

Bio:
His claim to fame - he's on the cover of a puppy training book (most undeservedly, even)!
