Likes: Oh, boy, do I ever love going on walks. Just say that magic word and I spring up from the couch ready to go! A close second is just lounging on the couch! A boy needs his rest too!
Pet-Peeves: I don't like mom telling me that kitties aren't to be chased! If they weren't made to chased, why do they have legs and run from me? Another pet peeve of mine is woodchuck holes. Why do they make themselves so many? If they only had one, I grab em!
Favorite Toy: Tug-of-war toy with big soccer ball! Yeah, I love tugging Sheena around the house!
Favorite Food: Well, I am not motivated at all by food! I do however, have a fondness for mice, birds and any wildlife! Yummy!
Favorite Walk: Please take me for a walk around the pond or the lake...please!!! I just love to look at the ducks and geese. They are so cool. Ooohhh, what's this mom, a bull frog? Oh boy, the pond is the best!
Best Tricks: Tricks? I am not sure what a trick is, I'll get back to you on that. Oh, is a catching mice a trick? If so, that's my favorite!
Arrival Story: Thanks to Tails of the Tundra, Dakota came into our lives when his owner surrendered him because of health reasons. On "adoption day", he came to our home, along with four other Siberians, to meet our resident dog, Sheena. Out of all of the dogs available, Sheena selected Dakota to be her brother. Actually, he was the only one that tolerated her bullying behavior!
Bio: This is at least my third home in a pretty short time. See, I was a stray when my last mom picked me up. I lived with her for 2-3 years until she decided I needed another home. Now I am in what my new mom and dad call a "forever home"! Sounds good to me!

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Here are 7 fun facts about me-Dakota
1. I am Sir Dakota Humps A LOT! Yeah, that is what the insiders call me!
2. I would rather be left alone on the front porch than in the kennel.
3. I love to hunt wild animals...my dream is to go on a Safari!
4. I am a big teddy bear.
5. I failed my first therapy dog test because I ignored the woman testing me! She actually said to my mom, and I qoute, "Have you ever seen a therapy dog, they are usually more energetic than this...ignoring clients is not the goal, we prefer the clients not committ suicide because they have been ignored!" (Mom was mortified!!!)
6. My favorite toy is a live woodchuck, snake or mouse!
7. I like to Skijorn with my mom in the winter!
That's it! A few facts about me. I look forward to reading about some of my pawriffic pals!
Just the other day mom took Sheena and I for a springtime walk. As mom put on her shoes I was so excited...I did the hurry up and lets go dance back and forth about her chair. When she finally tied her shoes, hooked our leashes and opened the door I could smell fun in the air. That is why I bolted down the driveway dragging mom and Sheena behind me. Mom couldn't believe my behavior as I am normally calm and gentle. As we neared the end of the driveway, she saw what was so compelling....a tiny rabbit in the tall grass! Yeah, I lunged and my mom pulled me back...it was a great tug-of-war! Eventually mom won so the bunny scampered off while I sulked.
As we jogged down the road, I began to perk up again - the smell of fun was still in the air! About twenty feet from us a pheasant was going about his business in the field. Mom must have very poor sniffing power because she didn't know he was there until I pounced! Boy was that fun...I nearly got a tail feather and my mom was once again playing tug-of-war with me as the pheasant took flight.
Mom was pretty annoyed with me at this point so she said we were taking a short-cut through the field and going home, she had enough! Initially, I felt bad for ruining the walk, but my depression soon ended. As we cross the freshly cut field I hear something....I see some grass moving and what to my wondering eyes appears......A SNAKE! (I should tell you that my mom HATES snakes, she is scared to death of them!) So, being a good dog that I am, I grab the snake right in the center and start shaking it. I am on a short leash and the snake is getting very close to mom during my shakes. Mom is now screaming, jumping up and down and about to let go of my leash because she can't tolerate the snake hitting her legs when I shake it. At this point I realize that I am sending mom over the edge and toward the insane asylum, so I drop the snake, watch it slither away and continue our walk. Mom got to the house and put me in the kennel to think about my actions. I thought a lot and I think it was a fun walk! I will thank her later...maybe a great big snaky kiss!
Mom is doing much better now, she stopped shaking after a few hours and the color has returned to her skin. I think she will have a full recovery!
I just wanted to let everyone know just how much fun the springtime walks are for me! I wonder why I haven't gone on one in a few days?
So, today mom and dad had a baby here...they called him Konner, I called him "going home soon". Oh, don't worry I was very good to him, but I was counting the hours until his mom and dad picked him up. He was needy and followed me around, he smelled like poop and he could barely stand up let alone be usefull enough to take me for a walk! Although he was very kind and even shared his cherries with me, I have to ask, what is the purpose of something that can't even take me for a walk?
PS- Shelcy loved him, so you should check out her diary for a different perspective. Apparently babies are a girl thing!
