Arrival Story:
A very reputable and highly recommended breeder just happened to have a returned 5 1/2-month old puppy. Since we had been to the shelters and the humane society for the past year and still didn't find a compatible dog, this puppy sounded like the perfect one. She was perfect, but we were so nervous (neither of us had gotten any sleep the two-nights before the appointment) we actually opted to think it over again another day before we rushed back and picked her up. Chai has the sweetest temperament; we feel like we've won the jackpot everyday. We still can't understand how she could be returned. [Chai was apparently returned because the old couple - who had had dogs before - had forgotten how much time and energy a puppy would require. The official reasons were: "unsuccessful toilet training & severe separation anxiety". We have only had a total of 4 toilet accidents with her of which 2 were on the 1st day, the other 2 within a week, and she only cried all of the 1st night and then occasionally in the first week.]

Bio:
Extremely willful and occasionally stubborn. Doesn't like having her family separated, even briefly: "You get the eggs while I pop into Hallmark with puppy...." although she has accepted it now. She likes to be fawned over and enjoys all the attention she gets from viewers during puppy class at Petsmart. Loves to give kisses and sleep on laps.
