 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 1st 1998
Likes: She loves LOVE....and chicken. And Cheerios and cheese!

Pet-Peeves: Sudden movements, puppy mills, cold weather, being away from Moki.

Favorite Toy: It took Teenie a while to show interest in toys. She just didn't know what they were! Now, she loves rope toys, small stuffed animals, and braided fleece toys. She is still afraid of some toys, but is coming around slowly.

Favorite Food: Chicken, cheese, her dog food, lean ground beef...just about anything!

Favorite Walk: Teenie now has a harness and leash of her very own. She likes to go on short, quiet walks with her daddy and Moki. It still scares her, but that is to be expected. She is improving daily.

Best Tricks: She learned to sit very quickly. If I say "CHEESE" she comes running. We are working on "come" but she is so frightened, it is taking a while to get her to understand that coming does not equal pain & fear. Everything she learns helps her gain confidence.

Arrival Story: Teenie's daddy drove to Oklahoma City to help with Homeward Bound Pug Rescue and their effort to liberate 10 pugs from deplorable puppy mill conditions. Her name was "Tessie" but along with her new life came a new name.
Teenie had Ehrlichia (tick fever) and was infested with ticks, had an ear infection, was grossly under weight, had dry and infected eyes, intestinal worms, a horrible skin condition due to malnutrition, fly strikes on/in her ears, splayed legs, and was generally in bad shape mentally. The vet said she has a 50/50 chance of recovering from the tick fever, but she made it. Every day that I hold her little body close to my heart, I whisper in her ear, "you will never be hungry, cold, lonely, or helpless again" and I hope she believes me.

Bio: Though Teenie started her life with us as a foster, we just couldn't let her go. She became a member of our family in June, and it has been a long road to recovery for this precious little baby. She has her good days and her bad days, but hopefully as the days and months go by, she will learn that she can trust us. Teenie has already made great strides, loving to be cuddled and fed treats, loving to sun in the yard with her brothers and sister, and generally being pampered the way a little queen should.

I am so HAPPY...Mom and Dad officially adopted us! They said they can't live without us, and they want to keep me and Moki forever.
Yea! And I love my new name...Tessie was too sad. I needed a happy name to go with my new happy collar...it is lime green and has little multi-colored hearts all over it. Mom said I look PRETTY! No one has ever said that to me before.
The bad place seems like a distant memory now. Mom and Dad hold me and whisper nice things in my ears, like "you are home now" and "no one will ever hurt you again" and it makes me feel very sleepy and happy.
I can finally relax and stop worrying a little bit. Hands still scare me, but I know M and D will never hit me like someone used to. I can barely remember it now. I love my new house and feel much better.
Love,
Teenie

Hi Y'all,
I just want to tell you, life is getting much better. I never have to go outside without my new foster mom or dad, I can sleep inside the house every day and night, I have my own nice spacious kennel with a big fluffy pillow inside, and my foster mom feeds me these round things she calls cheerios. I love them!
My sister Moki is pretty happy and has mastered the doggie door but I am still awful scared of that flap.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day...
Love,
Miss T

Whew. It has been a long and tiring couple of days. The next time I get stuck with a needle will be too soon. Moki and I got a nice and quiet car ride back to Weatherford and I am feeling much better. I got a warm bath in the kitchen sink when I got to my new foster home...but I'm still a little stinky :) All of this excitement has worn me out so I am going to bed. Nighty night.
