With a whisper.....

Missy slipped away to the Rainbow Bridge on September 4, 2006. She put up a valiant fight after having a stroke on July 11, 2006. She never surrendered, even when she could no longer stand. She scooted around the floor and gave new meaning to the term "underfoot." She stayed with the family until she knew everyone was okay with the news of her great grandmothers illness as Great Grandmother was hospitalized with liver cancer on July 11, 2006. Great Grandma crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 27, 2006 and was there to greet Missy. Missy's little girl said she understands that Great Grandma needed Missy more than we did, right now.

All the same, I 'm gonna miss her terribly. She leaves some very big bad dog paws to fill.....

All my love,

Dexter, Missy's brother

Help me fix the mess he made!!! He tore up all the stuffies searching for a squeaker in a teddy bear.... Then he marked all the presents under the tree and the tree. He says it's all his!!!

He ate all the peanut butter cookies that were cooling on the counter. He didn't leave ONE crumb for me....

Now I'm afraid that Santy Paws won't come for me since he's been so bad today.... does ONE day count??? Or will Santy Paws overlook it for the whole rest of the year.....

Oh, this waiting stuff is killing me.... Hurry, Christmas, before all the SNOW melts here....

Love,

Missy

And a hot sumer that's FINALLY over and we're now enjoying a warm fall.

It was just too hot to do a lot of bad dog deeds this summer. We're making up for it though. The mild fall has lured the GEESE into hanging around and Dex and I have been chasing them AND the evil squirrels every chance we get!

The holidays are right around the corner, I see the pumpkins and the baking supplies coming in the house and I know the pumpkin pies and bread aren't far behind!

Now that things are settling in, maybe Grandma will sign into DOgster more often so that I can update my diary more often...

Bark at you later!

We've been enjoying an early spring in Minnesota. Had a rainy dya yesterday which meant the making of LOTS of mud puddles, which menat that, being a water dog, I just had to keep going outside. And getting myself wet and the house smelling like wet dog, and getting muddy foot prints everywhere! **Doggie grin ;-)**

Today, it's clear and sunny and warmish and drying out so that when Grandma starts to grilling in a bit, WELL, I'll be right three, supervising, like any self respecting nanny.

I don't like this new schedule though, Dex andI haven't b een able to chase geese for MONTHS!! Grandma says being a one car family with people working all 7 days of the week doesn't make it weasy to walk around our favorite lakes to chase GEESE .

But, there's squirrels to chase and some evil birds and there's the Cathouse down the street to play with the cats (there's like 12 of them) and all the dogs in the neighborhood. We're keeing busy, busy, busy.

Hmm, Better check on Dex, he's too quiet....

Bark at you later.

We made it through another Christmas

Oh joy. We had lots of company on New Years Day. Dex barked a lot.
We had a feast! Only bad thing was I couldn't get into the kitchen for some counter surfing ( I was really bad last year, I snarfed up a half a tray of hors'douerves) so I had to settle for the sad eyes trick. I got some goodies that way. The biggest problem was that we didn't have much in the line of leftovers.

It's been trying to snow here, but we haven't had much success: It's been snowing everywhere else, though. At least it's been a bit warmer. But there's ice everywhere so I have to take my time so I don't slip and fall when I'm outside. Dex knocks me off the stairs and thinks it's funny. It's hard to keep my dignity around him.

Anyway, it's time for me to supervise Grandma and the making of breakfast.
Have a good week.

Love,

Missy

A week to go

Howdy:

We made it through the Pawty for Dex. He stole his little boys favorite stuffed toy and shook the Dickens out of it, but it survived. He only gave it up when Grandma gave him something else to play with. No squeaky thing in it, but he shredded it just the same. Lots of good eats; no turkey, though.

Whether or not we survive until Santy Paws comes is another question. He found another roll of toilet paper and decorated the house with it. All the snow melted, so we're praying for more in time for Santy Paws. Maybe I'll get a new blankie...and a new collar....and some tennis balls...and a new stuffie...
hmm. Maybe I should E-mail Santy Paws....

Love,

Missy

Another Thanksgiving under my belly

Well, the family had a birthday pawty for me. I reaced the age of 13. Sigh.
Fortunately the camera malfunctioned so there is no incriminating evidence of my shredding the pawty favors. Hmm. Do you think maybe the doggie drool made the camera not work? Just asking, not admittting anything.

Well. It's the time of year when the baking goes into full gear, so I must supervise. It always starts with pumpkin cookies and pies. We ate so much turkey that I am stuffed for a week. Then we get to start planning a pawty for Dex, he turns 8 this December 12. Closer to Christmas and all those goodies. Maybe I can talk Grandma into making a goose or two. We never did catch one this year. Drat.

The one nice thing Dexter did for me was he got the turkey carcass out of the garbage and shared half of it with me. I feel bad for throwing all those snow balls at him outside. Maybe not. Yeah, he deserved it. He can be such a pest.
And he did wreck my favorite blankie.

Oh no. He's making up a list for Santy Paws. I better go supervise.

Hope you had a super duper Thanksgiving like we did.

Love,

Missy

Well, we still haven't been able to really, really , really chase those evil, vile creatures, but, it's not been from lack of trying. I even SEE a goose and I go crazy with barking and trying to chase the stupid, dim witted thing. That Grandma! She WON"T let go of my leash! Or Dexter's. We have been plotting like crazy to get away from her but she'e been on to us, every time...

And the one time I did get away, it was POURING rain and the geese would NOT come out for me to chase them. Stupid weather! I haven't given up yet.
MMM, time to go inspect the pumpkins and see if there are any treats I can snarf up.

Happy Halloween.

Missy

Another week of adventure

Well, The leaves are turning colors and the trees are sheddding. Dex loves to run and jump in the piles of leaves and scatter them everywhere. I like to lie on them. They are warm and soft to lie on and I make a bed for mysefl and then Dex jumps on it and I have to start all over.

It's birthday week at our house, we have three smack dab in a row, so I've been spervising when Grandma cooks special meals. She made stuffed peppers the other night. MMM, goood. I eat the stuf f she drops and countersurf like mad. She makes them with cheese and I LOOOOOOVE cheese. She also starts making fall stuff like bread and stew and pumpkin bars and apple crisp and mmmmm, good stuff. I can smell Turkey day coming, so we'll be having a practice run soon, and I LOOOOOVE turkey and stuffing and mashed taters and gravy.

The geese are gathering again and Dex'n'I have been plotting a plan of attack. They'll be leaving soon, so we don't have a lot of time. We love to chase 'em, the evil things. Maybe we'll catch one next week, before they head to warmer climes.

Oh. What's that? Someone's taking a bath? Must go and investigate, they may need me to supervise...

Love.

Missy

He did it again

Oh! That Dex. He stole my blankie and ripped it to shreds. He said it was because he wanted to play tug of war with me and I wouldn't play with him.
Then he woke me out of a sound sleep by jumping on me to tell me Mommie was home. I was pretty cranky with him. He made it up to me though. After I opened the door to the fridge he brought me some goodies to share from the bottom shelf. Mostly lettuce. I hate lettuce. He did find some cheese to share.

He was pretty restless yesterday, it got really windy and rained and the temperature plunged so I REALLY wanted the blankie he shredded and he made me cranky all over again. He offered to snuggle with me to make up for shredding my blankie and wasn't too twitchy. I guess he's better today, he waited until I got into the house before he got in my way to go up the stairs. He's still a pain, but I guess it's okay.

Love, Missy
