Bio: Chachi was a very dignified little boy. He really brought our family much closer and was a blessing to us all. He passed away March 5, 2008 after 10.5 years of life. It was unexpected and deeply wounding. He left me too soon and part of me is now missing.
Chachi died from bloat, also known as acute gastric dilation or torsion. Please read about the Symptoms. The ER vet and Chachi's regular vet did not think he had bloat because of his small size (despite Chachi having every listed symptom). X-rays and ultrasounds could not lead them to an alternate diagnosis. They conceded it was bloat after he passed away (over 12 hours after his admittance to the ER). Worst day ever.
Chachi's passing inspires me daily to give my pets a full and happy life because time is fleeting and precious.
