Darwin had big shoes to fill........and he has just wormed his way into my heart.

Bio:
Darwin has been going to Maddys Doggie Daycare since October 2004. He loves it there and can't wait to get in the door when we arrive! He plays equally well with the big dogs and little dogs...he is so gentle with the puppies! You can see a pictures of Darwin and his daycare friends at www.Maddysddc.com. Click on "photos" for the picture albums. Dar has completed two sessions of Agility and he likes it very much but he LOVES the A-frame. He loves it sooooooooooo much that he will just run up and down over and over again and forget about the rest of the course. His instructor stood in front of the "A" to block him from it and he hurdled quite easily over her head to the top of the "A". We are going to try agility again in the fall after some private lessons.

"The mama" came home from somewhere the other day ( not work, cause she wasn't wearing the silly pajama clothes she wears on work days) with a "special treat" Special treat means something REALLY yummy! So I am waiting for ice cream or hamburgers, but NO, she pulls this dried out stick from a bag. She called it a bully stick. Ok, so what. There are lots of sticks outside and they don't qualify for the "special treat" category. First she gave one to Izzy who seemed pleased with it and ran off to her couch. Then she gave me one. MMMMMMMM, this ain't no ordinary stick! THIS IS WAY TOO YUMMY TO DESCRIBE! I ran into the computer room to savor the stick. HEY, WAIT A MINUTE! I could have 2 of these, not just one! And she said it was a BULLY stick...............so I bullied the other stick away from Izzy! It wasn't too hard to do becuz when she saw me running in from the other room like a torpedo she dropped it and ran upstairs. I am now happily prancing around the house with two bully sticks! But wait.....why is "the mama" so mad if I did what I was supposed to do? Uh oh, gotta run....looks like I might be spending some time in the nite-nite box. Gotta figure out these humans....they play games with words!

I have found it! The one thing that makes my sister, Izzy, absolutely crazy bonkers! And it happened quite by accident......

My human sister has this large, circular jumping thing in the backyard. Her and the other small humans collect inside the netting that goes around it and JUMP, JUMP, JUMP! OHHHHH, I LOVE TO JUMP,JUMP,JUMP. And I'm very good at jumping or so "The Mama" says. I heard her tell someone that I get so excited when she is getting my breakfast that I jump like a pogo stick (what is that?) and almost land on the kitchen counter!
So one day when the human sister was jumping, I vaulted quite easily onto the rim on the jumpy thing. But for some reason I couldn't get into where she was! There was this weird resisitance everytime I tried to push into the middle of the circle. Finally she stuck her head through the stuff and let me in! Oh, I see.....there is a small secret crack in the magic resistance that only really cool dogs know about! The inner circle was so much fun! And lo and behold....there was the soccer ball I had deflated the day before! So I snatched that up and started chasing my human around the circle. What fun we had! Suddenly, Izzy (the dog sister), started chasing me around from the OUTSIDE of the circle! She was barking frantically and standing up to look at me inside the magic resistance! Oh, this is good, too good really. I worked her up into a drooling, barking frenzy! I could even see her run under the circle and I could taunt her from there! She obviously isn't cool enough to be allowed into the magic circle because she didn't even try to get in! She just kept running around and around and around.....

Finally "The mama" came outside to see what all the excitement was about. She put an end to all of my torturing fun. But every chance I get......I'll be up on the magic circle again!!
(Izzy looked really funny all foamy at the mouth and panting and stuff!)
