   Leave a bone for Gunther

Nicknames:
Little man

Quick Bio:
-purebred

Birthday:
November 12th 2004

Likes:
Pestering his big sister, sitting in the sun and eating grass, barking at people outside even if they're nowhere near my yard

Pet-Peeves:
being told "no" for putting things in my mouth (including Keiko), being in time-out, being away from my mommy, loud noises

Favorite Toy:
anything that someone else is playing with

Favorite Food:
french fries (learning bad habits from big sister)

Favorite Walk:
anything off-leash and with my big sister

Best Tricks:
crawl, shake both paws, turn around

Arrival Story:
I had been wanting to get a dane for quite awhile, and now seemed like a good time. I tried to go thru the only rescue group in the area that had puppies, but after initially being conditionally approved, I never heard back from them again, even after emailing them twice and calling to leave a message. After waiting two months, I finally deciced to find a breeder. I originally wanted a harlequin dane, but since my husband wasn't sure about getting a large dog, and he mentioned he liked the "striped" ones, I started looking at brindles. He arrived from Michigan the day before valentine's day 5 days short of 3 months old, and already weighing about 40lbs.

Bio:
Prefers small dogs and puppies to play with (doesn't seem to know he's 5 times and 100lbs. over their size). Loves to let everyone know that he is protecting the yard and won't take "no" for an answer (we're working on it). Hates the rain, but is getting used to waves at the beach. Likes to act big and tough, but when it comes down to it, he is a huge chicken and will run away from just about anything. Is growing faster than a weed, and unless he stops soon, I may end up with a VERY large dane.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello friends,

I could get used to this Christmas thing. Getting presents on a regular basis sounds good to me.

Christmas was good here. Mom went out to her grandparent's church for the children's Christmas Eve service so she could see her cousins in it. Then they had family time at her aunt's home where they ate and exchanged gifts. We weren't invited, but you'd think they could have at least brought some food back! Hmph!

We opened our gifts on Christmas Day. We hit the motherload. I got a stuffed chicken. Nigel got a new peppermint patty stuffie, and Posey got a giraffe pattern stuffie ball. We each got a new bed too. Keiko didn't get a bed b/c she doesn't use them. Mom wishes she would b/c she has arth.........ummmm, arithr...........umm..............her bones ache. She also got some stuffed bones, which we stole away when she was done.

Mom put wrapping paper on my head and in my collar and she was very proud I was not afraid. Well, when I saw it wasn't going to eat me I figured it was okay.

It started snowing in the early afternoon. There was already snow on the ground, but it's always nice to get snow on Christmas, or at least that's what everyone kept saying. Uncle Jeff and his girlfriend had a hard time getting out of the driveway though........heeheehee. They tried for about 10 mintues before finally getting out.

Tonight is New Year's Eve. Not sure what all the excitement is all about. Why is it a new year? Where is the old year going? Will it ever come back? Hmmmm..........inquiring doggies want to know.

It is really getting down to the nitty gritty with our moving. Mom will be making lots of trips over the next 3 weeks. Lots of cages and tanks to move. Check out Keiko's diary for our new family members added over the last year.

Mooing?

Keiko has been mentioning that we are mooing next month. I don't know what she is talking about, we aren't cows.

Mom says we are going to live in a new place. But I still don't see what that has to do with mooing.

We will go to a place with s-noe. What is s-noe? I have not heard of this s-noe. I hope it is something to eat.

Mom's pregnant?

Well, she doesn't look like it, but mom is having puppies! I can't wait! Keiko is no fun, I need some new puppies to play with. Well, as long as they don't touch my stuff, that is. Then they can go back where they came from.

Keiko says that mom isn't pregnant and having puppies, but I don't believe her. Where else would the puppies come from? Keiko can't have any, so mom must be having them, right?

They are arriving next month before me move. A male and female. We had 2 puppies come a few months ago for a visit and they may be the ones we are getting. I didn't like them at first, but after awhile, they weren 't so bad. I even tried playing with them.

Mom must be hiding them in her tummy until they are ready to stay here. We are only allowed 2 dogs, so she has to hide them in there so no one can see. She is very sneaky, I haven't even been able to find them. Keiko says I am dumb and mom does not have puppies in her tummy.

But where else could they be hiding? Hmmmm? Tell me that!
