Leave a bone for Babs

Nicknames: Babsie, Babsaloo, Babsiebaby, Baby-Babs, Babzini, BeBabsALula, Little Miss Drumsticks, Hoover, Piglet, PiggieBabs, BabsiePig, BooBooBabs (the list is truly endless, I won't bore you further)

Quick Bio:
| -purebred | -deaf | -dog rescue | |
Likes: Love and food. (Not necessarily in that order)

Pet-Peeves: No food and people sneaking up on me.

Favorite Toy: Anything fuzzy. (She must have been a bulldog in a former life because once she had something, she wouldn't let go.)

Favorite Food: Anything you people are eating.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere...and what a little trooper. She would get so pooped and still keep on going. Sometimes I would end up carrying her because she didn't want to go home.

Best Tricks: All her tricks were signaled with hand gestures. She could speak, jump up (basically begging on hind legs), sit, laydown, roll over, heel (not her favorite) and stay.

Arrival Story: She was a dog that was known to me and when her current "parents" (I use the term loosely) told me that she had been hit by a car and they had no intention of taking her to the vet, I told them if they didn't give her to me I would sic the aspca on them! I took her to the vet right away and they told me she had a broken hip, her teeth were so infected that she might have died, severe ear infections in both ears, the worst case of fleas they had ever seen, flea allergies, sebaceous adenitis, she'd never been spayed (probably not vaccinated either) and had the early stages of congestive heart failure (she weighed about 18lbs on a 10lb frame.) I was horrified that a poor little dog could be treated that way and I told them to fix her up! She had several surgeries to fix her hip, teeth, ears and she was spayed. We treated her other ailments as best we could with many, many medications. The vet wasn't optimistic. At the time we got her Babs was about 8, she lived to be 15 years old and the time she spent with us was the best experience I have ever had with owning a pet. I think she enjoyed it too! We miss you Babs!

Bio: Babs was a very smart and crafty little dog! She was also a terrible beggar. She spent alot of time in an Elizabethan collar because of her ears and we would hear her at night as she scraped across the kitchen floor looking for crumbs. Screeeeek! We thought the cone shape might have made it easier to suction food-like matter into her mouth. Hence the nickname Hoover. She only had one canine tooth on the top after her surgery and it would usually catch her upper lip causing her to do her world famous Elvis sneer. She was a sucker for the King. Babs was also famous for laying on the floor with her legs splayed out behind her, making her back legs look like little chicken drumsticks. We miss you and we will never forget you Babsie!

Forums Motto: Missing her always!
