We dropped to 2 when our border collie mix passed away leaving us with just 2 English Springer Spaniels. The older one passed away at 13 and suprisingly the 8 year old fell ill a year later, so we suddenly found ourselves dogless for the first time in 20+ years. We weren't ready for one just then. A year later our youngest son said he wanted a Beagle, which would have been the smallest dog we'd had. We had a mutt once that was probably part hound so my wife wanted to see a "real" foxhound. We found the only ad for one I've ever seen and went to see him after looking at a few yappy beagle puppies. Love at first sight of course. So we took our big "beagle" home with us. If I had a dollar for every time someone called him the biggest beagle they ever saw I'd be rich. Bio: We saw both of Bailey's parents and the owner said he is a Penn MaryDel (for Pennsylvania, Maryland Delaware) foxhound. Foxhounds are pretty hard to find, but that type is even less common, especially finding him in Washington State. Bailey has lived in Oregon near Portland his first 3 years life but relocated to his home of heritage in Frederick MD (along with his owners of course). He now lives with us in Breckenridge CO and "runs" the Art on a Whim gallery downtown. The Groups I'm In: Foxhoundville!!!! I've Been On Dogster Since:
