Arrival Story:
I first met Tinkerbell at LL Dog Rescue's reunion picnic on Sat., June 12, 2004. My parents had adopted two white long-haired chihuahuas, Ruby and Rosy, from LL Dog Rescue. Tinker was in the arms of the man who was fostering her. I immediately fell in love with Tinker. I spent a lot of time with Tinker that day. I knew that Tinker would be mine. Tinker's foster dad was considering adopting her but was hesitant due to his work schedule. I kept telling people that Tinker was going to be my dog. In fact, there were six offers to adopt Tinker that day! The next day, my family threw a surprise birthday party for me. Tinkerbell showed up at my party with her foster mom and dad. They told me that I could adopt her! I was so excited (and still am)! I happily filled out the paperwork and made the check out that very day.

Tinkerbell spent the first nineteen-plus months of her life in an illegal puppymill near Columbia MO. She was rescued from the puppymill in late January 2004 when a fire broke out in the home of the operator. The operator along with nine pregnant dogs died in the fire. Tinkerbell and 56 other dogs were discovered living in rabbit hutches. They were all living in horrible conditions. Rosy, our youngest chihuahua, came from the same puppymill. Tinkerbell was originally adopted by a college student in the Columbia MO area. The student surrendered Tinker because she thought that Tink was too hyper! I think that the student could not handle Tinkerbell's issues from the puppymill. Tinkerbell wears diapers in the house if she is on the floor running around the house. If she is in my arms or lap, then she does not need a diaper. Tinker is one of the most mellow dogs I have ever been around.

Tinkerbell's Life

Been a Very Long Time

It has been a long time since I updated.

Momma Kris dropped the Plus account here at Dogster. Momma Kris had actually closed her bank and forgot to notify Dogster. Bad Momma Kris! She decided that Facebook is better suited for us. She can show us off there just as well. Eventually she will shut down her account here at Dogster. Dogster seems like it is for kids rather than adults anyway.

Grandma is still with us! Her cancer has continued to grow. Traditional chemotherapy and radiation have failed to knock it back and out. :( I don't know when Grandma last visited Dogster. I know she loves to look at things here.

It's been a super long time since this diary was updated.

We have some very sad news regarding one of the humans. :( My human grandpa lost his battle with lung cancer on Oct. 15th. :( It was such a bad time in our home. My sibs and I missed a lot of hugs and kisses. But everything is OK. Momma Kris and Grandma heap lots of hugs and kisses on us now. Momma Kris misses her Dad a lot.

Grandma is doing well.. She went thru six rounds of chemo and 35 radiation treatments over the summer and fall. She had scans in late December that showed her cancer was shrinking. WOO-HOO!

We hope to be back with an update soon!

Sorry for the Long Period between Updates

Momma Kris and I are sorry that it has been a long time since we updated. It's been a very difficult time since April this year. Both grandma and grandpa were diagnosed with lung cancer. :( My life has been turned upside down along with the rest of the pack and the humans. Momma Kris along with Grandma and Grandpa are on the go constantly! My siblings and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. :( We are sad. :(

We will try to update when we can.
