Quick Bio:

Jenna is my shadow--she follows me everywhere I go.

The vet! Grrrr! Lucy, my daughter's German shepherd (shiver, shake)

Favorite Toy:
Jenna loves her ball.

Favorite Food:
Unfortunately, Jenna is a good eater and has become a little chubby. She especially likes Nutro treats but we limit them.

Favorite Walk:
A country walk on the edge of the city near where we live.

Best Tricks:
Jenna is great at fetching a ball and loves to play in the snow where she turns into psycho doggie.

Arrival Story:
Jenna came to live with me as a puppy of 8 months. She has shown herself to be a wonderful companion. She is the sweetest, gentlest, most affectionate dog, so well behaved and so good with my grandchildren. Jenna's the dog I have always wanted to own--my doggie dream come true!

Jenna's registered name is ML Appleridge's Bonified Star and she is a star! Jenna's dad is Appleridge's Riskie Business (Cooper) and her mom is Appleridge's Opportune Tia (Tia). Both are wonderful, loyal, protective GSDs.

The Last Battle (December 29, 2011)

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Jenna lost her battle on December 29, 2011. She will be sadly missed.

In memory of Oliver

I cannot find my little friend Oliver, anywhere. Sometimes I run downstairs really fast because I think I hear him down there but he's not there. I notice that his little bed and doggie dish are also gone too. I've taken to lying on the floor beside the place where his bed used to be.

Even though Oliver was just a little wee guy (only 14 pounds) and I am a big girl of 85 pounds, he was like my big brother and protector. He always used to go outside with me to do our business in the yard and now that he is not here, I am making my mom go outside with me. If she doesn't go, I refuse to leave the porch.

My mom says that "Dogs leave footprints on our hearts." Oliver, mom and I miss you very much.
