Arrival Story:
We wanted Chinook to have a buddy. We stopped at a pet store for food and there were two siberian husky puppies there. One looked just like a miniature Chinook. The other one struck me right away with his big ears. He had the right temperment to get along with Chinook (Chinook is an alpha male, and this puppy wasn't the dominant one) and we decided to take the plunge.

Oh, I'm getting good!

Chinook can be so annoying! I guess that's true of all big brothers. I mean, I worship him, but he's a pain. Sometimes, Mom and Dad pay more attention to him, and he gets to go outside more. And he gets walked more. I bet he even gets more treats.

He teases me all the time. He brings his bones and sticks over to the edge of his space, just beside mine and then lies there, taunting me. He knows I want his bones, because he has more than I do. He's been around longer, building up his stock.

But today, he got careless and I proved how good I am! He brought over two bones. I guess he thinks he's pretty quick. He didn't even put them in the same spot.

I made like I was going to his left and then turned and went the other way as he moved to defend his bone. And I got the other one and made off with it! Ha!

He really whined. And I really enjoyed chewing that bone!

My niece and nephew bought a present for Chinook and Nootka - a red ball that makes sounds when it bounces. It's been a big hit, particularly with Nootka, who prefers to play more inside. He isn't always the brightest puppy, but he loves to chase that thing around. And instead of playing fetch and giving me the ball, he drops it himself and then chases it! Not exactly an interactive sport, but he has fun and that's what counts!
