Arrival Story:
i like to look up the breed online, there are some breeders in eastern washington, because a friend of mine has one and they are such great dogs. i lost a beloved pet in january and wasn't sure i would ever be ready for another but as soon as i saw his little face i knew he belonged with our family. he has been the perfect canine companion!

Bio:
koskie is a VERY dramatic little guy!!! he loves his mama and follows me everywhere, lucky for him he goes to work with me every day. he loves to jump on the bed and try to cuddle with our cat, who swats him away. bear dogs are used for bear control in many state parks. a karelian can track scent through the air (most dogs track on the ground), so they have no trouble when a bear has gone through water. karelians are VERY loyal to their people and unlike other dogs will actually charge a bear on the off chance the bear charges first . . .

I sure am scared of everything. Maybe someday I will be as big and brave as my mentor Buddy. Today, at the coffee shop, this big monster on wheels was coming right for me! You wouldn't believe it, I got out of the way as fast as possible (hard to do while on a leash), I nearly knocked my mom and two others over! The important thing is I am safe. phew!
