8 years old already!

Friday July 24th was my birthday and I turned 8! It doesn't feel like I'm that old. Wow it's been about 6 years since Mommy & Daddy brought me home from the shelter in Safety Harbor. Well for my birthday they bought me a new bed! It's the same size & shape as the old one and my old pillow & blankie fit in it. Just the new one has blue & pink stripes (or so they say cause you know we doggies can't really see colors hehe). The lining is soft & fuzzy but I still wouldn't lay in it until Daddy put my pillow & blanket in it. Then it got my ok. :D

Rat Attack!

I am a hunter. Mommy took me to the garage today and said something about a rat. I smelled something small and furry near the big machine that eats the grass in the yard. Mommy poked behind some boards with a broom while and tried to get my nose back there to get to the little critter. It ran out the other end and could have made a break for freedom out the open garage door. I guess it didn't like the sunlight and it ran further in towards me. I snatched it up with my mouth and crunched. It stopped wriggling immediately and Mommy told me to drop it. Then she put me back in the house. Later we went outside and it was next to the driveway not moving so I wasn't interested in it anymore. When Daddy came home I think he put it in the trash. When he and I went for our walk I tried to find the critter but it was gone. I sniffed and sniffed where it was though. I think Mommy & Daddy were really proud of their little rat killer but instead of a nice big juicy bone my reward was a bath! *whine*
